Week 2 Recap of the Dirty Dozen

Dirty Dozen Week 2 Recap King Fantasy Sports

Good morning from the other side of the pond and welcome back for a recap of my Week 2 Dirty Dozen. Unlike my associates at SkySports and ESPN, I’m going to hold myself accountable for my selections from last weeks list. Quick rehash of the qualifications for becoming a member of the Dirty Dozen. The player in question must be rostered in over 90% of Yahoo leagues but I deem that they will NOT end up as a top 12 play for the week in PPR league format. If you can’t remember who I selected, click here.

My Howlers

Let’s just get this started with the picks I badly missed on. To harness my inner Ted Lasso, I’ll just call them my pork pies. First and foremost, ALL of the wide receivers I was not expecting to perform well decided it was time to give resounding results. D.J. Moore, D.K. Metcalf and Stefon Diggs just went bonkers. The worst stat line of the three went to Metcalf versus arguably the best cover corner in Gilmore. D.K. muscled his way to a four catch night with 92 yards and a touchdown. The running backs that decided to give top 12 performances despite me explicitly telling them not to were Miles Sanders, James Conner and David Montgomery. Thankfully, I had more running backs on my list that meet my, “definitely not” Great Expectations.

Told You So

Now these are the players I will gladly go to town and sing their praises of being lackluster in Week Two. A pair of players stand out amongst the rest in stinking up the box score. Akers and Gronkowski both ended outside the top 50 at their position. Thankfully, Gronk has recognized he is a gimmick so he came out this week saying how he “loves” to block. Akers, not so much. The rest of the players: Ekeler, Ingram, Gordon and Carson faired well but didn’t crack the top 12.

So that brings an end to my recap of my Dirty Dozen selections for Week 2. At end of the day, I gave you a list of 12 players, my Dirty Dozen, that weren’t going to perform. Out of those, I was accurate on EXACTLY half of them. Not the best, but definitely casino worthy. If you enjoyed this please give me a follow @Heady_Football.
