Start 'Em
Denver Broncos v NYJ
If isn’t broke don’t fix it. The Broncos have been a hot D/ST and have their home opener against the Jets… the lousy Jets. Another rookie head coach/rookie QB that the Broncos should tear apart. Look for a low scoring 2nd half.
Deeper Leagues: Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders
Nick Folk v NO
Folk finally has his roster spot secured and will no longer need to bounce from practice squad to active day roster. The Saints should have a better defensive performance, allowing Folk more field goal opportunities.
Matt Prater @JAX
Prater and the Cardinals are rolling, They should both be in for a great game against the last place Jacksonville Jaguars. Only R. Succop has made more extra points through 2 weeks. Available in several leagues he could be the highest scoring kicker of week 3.
Deeper Leagues: Dustin Hopkins (WAS) & Greg Zuerlein (DAL)
Melvin Ingram v CIN
Ingram will be asked to step up regardless if TJ Watt is active or not. The Steelers are hosting their bitter rival, the Bengals. This game has a way of becoming nasty and defensive. Look for the vet to step it up, play him.
Trey Hendrickson @PIT
Hendrickson will be asked to lead the charge against a suspect Steelers O-Line. He has had 1 good game, and 1 bad game so the doubt is warranted. Big Ben is as nimble as a statue, so if Trey can get within arms reach he should be able to bring him down. Play him.
Deeper Leagues: Jeffery Simmons v IND
Von Miller v NYJ
Miller has had a sack in every game so far this season. As difficult as it is to have a sack in 3 straight games, Von could get to Zach Wilson more than once in the 1st home game in the Mile High City. Play him.
Deeper Leagues: Isiah Simmons @JAX, Alex Singleton @DAL
Adrian Amos @SF
Amos recorded 9 solo tackles against the Lions, and was on the field for all of the defensive snaps. The 49ers have a great running game, which should allow for Amos to rack up the tackles. Play him.
Jonathan Abram v MIA
Abram is roaming sideline to sideline in his new role in Gus Bradley’s defense. He’s the Earl Thomas III 2.0 if you will. Playing against Miami this week, there should be very few deep pass attempts. This is perfectly suited for Abram to cover anything in the curl, slant, and flat regions. It could be a 10 tackle game for the Las Vegas Raider.
Deeper Leagues: Quandre Diggs @MIN, Nasir Adderly @KC
Sit 'Em
Chicago Bears @CLE
The Bears are the 7th ranked D/ST… Pine them this week against a high powered offense that can exploit a bad rush or pass defense. With the Browns looking to earn the 1st seed of the AFC playoffs, they must win easier games. Also be weary of the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers against high powered offenses.
Joey Slye v CAR
Slye keeps bouncing back and forth from the practice squad. He was the highest scoring kicker week 1, and only mustered 2.5 points last week. Pine him against a good defense. Also pine Harrison Butker (KC) and Mason Crosby (GB).
Gregg Rousseau v WAS
Rousseau is coming off a 2 sack game, but Washington will quicken their release time with a week and half of practice. Do not expect a repeat performance. Also pine Chris Jones (KC), Akiem Hicks (CHI).
Micah Parsons v PHI
Parsons has been a stud his first 2 weeks of the NFL. The move to defensive end last week didn’t seem to hinder his success. If they keep him there, he could have trouble against a solid Philadelphia offensive line. Even if he gets past them, QB J. Hurts is elusive. as difficult as it will be, pine him this week. Put Anthony Hitchens (KC), Justin Hollins (LAR) on the pine too.
Mike Edwards @LAR
Edwards (TB) could be the hottest waiver wire addition after a breakout performance. If you paid FAAB or used a waiver priority, give it a week before the start. Pine him, James Bradberry (NYG), and monitor J. Reid (HOU) who’s questionable for Thursday Night.
