Start 'Em
Tampa Bay Buccaneers v MIA
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers D/ST are currently ranked 14th, not impressive to say the least. They have allowed 1,500 yards and 105 points through 4 games! Hosting the Dolphins is the perfect way for a defense to get it’s mojo back, and the Bucs should do just that.
Minnesota Vikings v DET
Despite all their early season woes, The Minnesota Vikings have the 8th best D/ST of the 2021 season. They are hosting the 0–4 Lions this week, and it should be an opportunity for the defensive line to display their excellent pass rush.
Deeper Leagues: Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots
Jason Meyers v LAR
Meyers isn’t even in the top 25 kickers after a flawless season last year. If you want an early jump, Meyers has the chance to get more than a couple field goal opportunities against a stout Rams front 7.
Deeper Leagues: Matt Prater (ARI) and Chase McLaughlin (CLE)
Sebastian Joseph-Day @SEA
The Rams will need to attack Russell Wilson to control the game. Aaron Donald will likely be double teamed on most plays, leaving Sebastian Joseph-Day (LAR) with one-on-one opportunities to make a big play. He should have a couple tackles and a few sack chances.
Deeper Leagues: Brian Burns (CAR) and DeForest Buckner (IND)
Matt Judon @HOU
Last week’s LB waiver wire was Patriot Matt Judon (NE), and he lived up to the expectations. Look for Judon and Coach Bill to give rookie QB Mills a lot of grief. A 2 sack game is well within Judon’s grasp.
Deeper Leagues: DeMario Davis (NO) and Quincy Williams (NYJ)
Derwin James v CLE
Derwin James (LAC) has put together 4 decent games, but is currently questionable. Don’t let the scary Q tag, make you nervous on a hurt player. The Browns run more than most teams and James will be filling the box, tackling Chubb, Hunt, and covering their tight ends. It could be a huge point total for the do it all safety.
Deeper Leagues: Micah Hyde (BUF) and Logan Ryan (NYG)
Sit 'Em
San Francisco 49ers @ARI
The San Francisco 49ers D/ST is currently ranked 10th, but have the red hot Arizona Cardinals coming to town, and the 49ers secondary will not be able to stop Murray, Kliff, and the high powered offense. Pine them.
Watch out for the Cleveland Browns traveling to L.A. and playing against an offensive in rhythm.
Younghoe Koo v NYJ (UK)
Most kickers, if not all, played soccer (futbol) as a youth. Younghoe Koo (ATL) could live out a childhood dream as he is playing on a pitch in London. However the Jets defensive is more stingy than people realize, and Atlanta may be just outside the range of Koo, prompting the offense to stay on the field for 4th down.. Pine him.
Joey Bosa v CLE
Bosa’s Monday post game interview, would make it appear he was dominating the game, pressuring Carr on almost every snap. However, after reviewing the tape, Bosa made one big play and was shut out the rest of the game. He literally would have had zero points without the sack/fumble. He will not have the same success against a much better offensive line. Pine him.
Matt Milano @KC
Milano is coming off his worst performance of the season, 1.40 points due to an injury. He also missed practice as he’s dealing with a tight hamstring still. The Chiefs play offense at a quicken pace and throw around the ball. Milano, even if he does suit out is likely a poor option. I know he has been producing for you, but Pine Milano this week.
Eric Harris v NYJ (UK)
Harris is coming off a huge 14.60 week. He has had at least 4 tackles in every game, and has 5 passes defended on the season. He is battling through an injury and will be playing in London (an early time slot). He should be put on the pine, as you shouldn’t risk a roster spot in an early time slot if there is a chance he won’t play.
