Week 6 is now in the books, we are ready with our Week 7 IDP waiver wire pickups for the 2021 season. As with last week, we have some bye weeks to deal with:
- Buffalo Bills
- Dallas Cowboys
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Minnesota Vikings
- Pittsburgh Steelers
J.J. Watt (ARI) v HOU
Watt is possibly owned in your league, just due to name value. But against his former team, he lined up outside and looked great. He has a pass defended in back to back games, and 8 QB hits in the past 3.
Julian Okwara (DET) @LAR
One good thing about Detroit not being good on offense, is that it gives opportunity for their defense to notch up points. Okwara managed three tackles and a sack last week against the Bengals. While he might struggle to have that impact this week, he is one of the primary pass-rushers in the offense.
Markus Golden (ARI) v HOU
This comes to positional eligibility. If he gets DL eligibility then it’s worth picking him up, if not then probably not. Golden had a great time last time out, with two sacks. He has been used as an effective pass rusher this season.
Others to Consider
- Jadaveon Clowney (CLE) v DEN
- Calais Campbell (BAL) v CIN
Foyesade Oluokun (ATL) @MIA
Oluokun was on bye last week and could have been dropped as a result. He didn’t make a massive impact in London either. But, he has been on the field for the Falcons all season. Picking him up could solidify your LB position all season long.
Micah Kiser (DEN) @CLE
Kiser is the next man up at linebacker for the Broncos. Kiser should be able to see the field for the majority of snaps, which should help him be worth consideration each week as a start.
Others to Consider
- Alex Singleton (PHI) @LV
- Shaq Thompson (CAR) @NYG
Jonathan Abram (LV) v PHI
Abram is on a roll, but still available in several leagues. He has 48 tackles and has a chance for a career game against the Eagles who throw more under 7 yard routes than most of the NFL. Do not be surprised if Abram has 10+ tackles and a few other stats in week 7.
Juan Thornhill (KC) @TEN
Thornhill has been seeing more action, with Daniel Sorensen seeing reduced snaps in recent weeks. Thornhill is likely to line up in the secondary, as well as some work in the box. The potential for an increase in production is there.
Others to Consider
- Adrian Amos (GB) v WAS
- Jeremy Simmons (DEN) @CLE
