Notable Players- Josh Allen
Allen is arguably the best (fantasy) QB in the league right now. He has a massive arm, and cut down on the turnovers he suffered in the early part of his career. He also has the ability to score with his legs, which has killed the value of the RBs on the team.
Allen, unlike other top fantasy QB options has a good number of consistent pieces that he can rely on. Not much more to say- you know what you are getting with Allen.
Notable Players- James Cook, Devin Singletary & Zack Moss
Choosing a player from the Bills isn’t what it should be on the face of it. The offense is one of the better ones in the league, and has plenty of scoring opportunities. The Bills RBs have long suffered with the impact of Josh Allen taking from the production at the position.
The question mark comes with what the team overall want to do. They attempted to add a pass-catcher out of the backfield during free agency, and opted to add James Cook in the draft. At this moment, I’d want to take Cook over any of the other pieces in the backfield because the team made an active choice to add him, despite what Singletary was able to do last season.
Singletary looked like he won out the job towards the end of last season, taking the vast majority of touches out of the backfield on the ground and in the air. This season it looks like he is likely going to need to do it again. Moss is really an afterthought. Clearly the team don’t see it to be a priority to use him in the offense.
Notable Players- Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis & Jamison Crowder
Diggs is one of the elite receiving talents in the NFL. In his first year in Buffalo he was given a massive target share. In 2021, he wasn’t as good but was still very much the primary receiver for the team. Not alot more needs to be said, he is good you got it.
Where it gets interesting in who the second receiver in this offense is going to be.
Davis has had limited exposure on the field but has been productive with the limited opportunities he has been given. With the team choosing to not bring Emmanuel Sanders back, Davis should have a good opportunity to be the receiver out wide opposite Stefon Diggs. That makes him an interesting addition to draft boards, as the ceiling could be league-winning truly.
The addition of Crowder is interesting. The team allowed Cole Beasley to leave the team who operated an important role in the slot for the team, and made a move to add Crowder. The risk is that he doesn’t pick up the offense quickly, and he shares the role. I’m happy to target him late in drafts, especially in PPR leagues he could be a decent WR3.
Notable Players- Dawson Knox & O.J. Howard
Knox was great for fantasy last season, he was being used near the goal-line and had a purple patch where everything that came his way was a catch. This season, he is going to be overdrafted as a result. Being able to sustain that is going to be tough. Infact, if you look back in history there are just two players in history that have managed to do it (Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Gates).
That’s before you even consider the impact of Howard being added to the roster. Howard hasn’t shown the ability consistently to think that he is going to be a real thorn, but when you are talking about limited looks, even a handful taken away is massive.
