Our Dallas Cowboys 2022 Fantasy Preview gives you the run down on the teams outlook going into the season. For the Cowboys, they have managed to keep consistency on the sidelines with their Head Coach, OC and DC all returning. That’s great as it seems that they are building to something with their young core of players. The offense is an exciting one that has speed and aggression to it.

Notable Players- Dak Prescott
Prescott has a history of good fantasy performances for the Cowboys. He has good ability with his legs, which always gives him a good floor, and has always had offensive pieces to move the ball in the air.
For this season though, Prescott has lost a number of weapons. Cooper and Wilson both departed and Michael Gallup is recovering from an ACL issue. CeeDee Lamb should be able to step up into that alpha receiver role, with Gallup working opposite. The loss of Wilson is going to be felt though. He was a great release valve for the team.
Prescott also has dialed down the rushing attempts last season. That could be the exception to the rule, as he recovered from an awful ankle injury from the year before. I’ll take him if he falls, but I’m fine not having him on my roster and taking a shot elsewhere
Notable Players- Ezekiel Elliott & Tony Pollard
I don’t know why people are just out on Elliott. Like, I understand it to some level- he isn’t the locked RB1 he once was, but he is still a fine fantasy asset. Don’t forget he suffered a knee injury last season. The fact of the matter is that he is going to get the majority of the carries. Yes, Tony Pollard has been better in a number of rushing categories, but he isn’t going to unseat Elliott just yet.
Pollard is well worth adding to your roster though, as we have seen the team are happy to hand him the ball if Elliott goes down. But unless that were to happen he doesn’t have much value outside of PPR leagues (and even then it’s not massive).
Notable Players- CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Jalen Tolbert & James Washington
Lamb is the headline act here. From his rookie season he has performed well on the field, which has led to the team ultimately moving Amari Cooper on. Lamb is likely going to be a WR1. I don’t think there is alot of doubt about that. But where in that list does he fall? For me, I’ve got him in the large group of WRs that are going to be WR1/ WR2 for fantasy. But his ceiling is among the highest in that group
Gallup was handed a decent sized contract which means that the team are going to be looking to have him out on the field. When Gallup was on the field last season he was fine. The issue is that currently his injury may stop him from being on the field for Week 1. Infact, some reports are saying that he is going to start the season on the PUP/ IR list. As a result, don’t burn a bench spot- the reward isn’t truly worth it.
Instead, I’d look towards rookie Jalen Tolbert. Given the depth chart, he is likely to be on the field to start the season and the Cowboys need him to be effective. The WR2 on this offense is going to have fantasy value, and Tolbert starts the season as that and could hold that job if Gallup misses more time.
Washington is going to be on the field to start the season, but I’m not drafting him. There are just too many mouths to feed, and Washington hasn’t shown he can do it on a consistent basis.
Notable Players- Dalton Schultz
Schultz is a player that I’m quite fine with being wrong on. I can see the argument that Schultz is going to be on the field in a good passing offense. I can also make my peace with the fact the team let Blake Jarwin go, leaving Schultz as the only TE.
Where I struggle is that the offense didn’t work the way that the team hoped towards the latter part of the season. I don’t think he will score a similar number of TDs as he did last season.
I think you’ll see him start the season strongly and then tail off as Gallup gets fitter.
