Our Los Angeles Rams 2022 Fantasy Preview gives you the run down on the team’s outlook going into the season. The Rams winning the SuperBowl led to a change in coaching staff, but Head Coach Sean McVay is still there, and it’s his offense and play-calling that is key.
The team had moved on Robert Woods and Odell Beckham, who missed time through injury (I’m counting Beckham going down in the SuperBowl) but they have brought in Allen Robinson. With the return of Cam Akers, this team is primed for fantasy production this season again.

Positional Previews
Notable Players- Matthew Stafford
Stafford moved from Detroit to LA and led the offense to a SuperBowl victory. For fantasy he performed too, supporting Cooper Kupp on the way to a ridiculous season, The team were also able to get performances from Van Jefferson, Robert Woods & Odell Beckham.
The change from Jared Goff was great on the field, and great for fantasy. Stafford himself has borderline QB1 value, such is the power of the passing attack.
Notable Players- Cam Akers, Darrel Henderson & Kyren Williams
Akers looked like he was going to have a fantastic fantasy season last year. Unfortunately, he tore his Achilles and looked set to miss the whole season. Now, he may have missed the regular season, but somehow he made a return in the playoffs.
When he made that return, he was given the majority of the carries, which to some extent shows he can carry a workload. The team clearly feel confident enough in his recovery, that they allowed Sony Michel to leave and not replace him. The offense being what it is, Akers should be in the RB1 conversation.
Henderson figures to be the backup for Akers in the backfield. After Akers injury, he was thrown into the starting role and performed well until he himself suffered an injury. Henderson’s value is tied to Akers being unavailable. I’d take a late-round selection on him incase Akers suffers a setback in the opening weeks. Williams is only likely to see the field if Henderson and Akers miss time, so just keep an eye out on waivers incase either go down.
Notable Players- Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson & Van Jefferson
If you drafted Kupp last year, you most likely won your league. Kupp finished his season with 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 TDs. This season, he might not match those heights, but he doesn’t have to compete with Robert Woods/ Odell Beckham. Instead, it’ll be Allen Robinson fresh in from Chicago. Kupp is going to be a WR1 this season, possibly THE WR1, injury permitting.
Robinson just fell off last season in Chicago. Struggling for fitness and poor QB play, Robinson left Chicago and headed to the Rams, where he now links up with the best QB he has played with. There is no debating that he is going to play second fiddle to Kupp in this offense, but there should be more than enough to be a fantasy value at his current ADP.
Jefferson had some flashes last season, but struggled to make an impact after Robert Woods then Odell Beckham acted as the secondary receiver behind Kupp. Now, the team have brought in another receiver, Allen Robinson, to be the secondary receiver. Jefferson therefore likely stays in his boom-bust role as a deep target. If your league is deep, he is well worth picking up. But don’t expect much more than WR4 play, unless either Kupp or Robinson miss time.
Notable Players- Tyler Higbee
Higbee had all the opportunity to be a success for fantasy. Stafford coming in at QB, and losing Gerald Everett as competition for touches. So that was going to be a return to the streak of 2019, where he put his name on the radar. No. Instead, Cooper Kupp went balistic and Higbee struggled for consistent production.
This offseason the team didn’t bring in any TE competition of note, so there is a chance that we see an improvement from last season. But, with the weapons the team has, it’s far more likely he ends up as a TE2 on the season.
