Positional Previews
Notable Players- Zach Wilson
Wilson struggled last season, there is no denying that, but there were some flashes of brilliance. Part of that should be expected, rookie struggles, while part of it comes down to injury on his offensive line and his own.
I wouldn’t have Wilson as a must-draft this offseason, but I would keep an eye on him in the early part of the season. With the additions the team made in the draft, they are trying to make their QB feel comfortable and be productive.
Notable Players- Breece Hall, Michael Carter & Tevin Coleman
Hall has had alot of hype around him during the draft process, the draft capital that the team has invested in him is set to give him the opportunity to impress. Hall is set to have a big role in the backfield, but it’s unlikely that he is going to have a massive role in the offense. That would be unfair on Michael Carter who was impressive last season.
That is infact the exact thing that is going to limit what Hall does this year. Just how many touches will Carter get in the offense? Carter performed well last season for the team, so is likely to be used in a rotation.
I mean we could see a backfield like the 49ers used, rotating players in and out at will. But with the information we have, Hall is going to be a borderline RB1 with the likely volume and production he will be given. Carter is the next man up, and will have some flex consideration in some weeks, but isn’t worth picking up ahead of the first tier of backup RBs. Coleman is likely to be limited for fantasy and should sit on waivers.
Notable Players- Elijah Moore, Garrett Wilson & Corey Davis
The receiving group for the Jets is…..exciting? That feels strange to say, but there is some genuine talent here. Moore had a great stretch of games last season, and that was with Joe Flacco and Mike White throwing him the ball. Surely with Zach Wilson’s arm strength, he is an upgrade on those guys surely! With his talent, Moore looks to be the lead receiver in the group.
Wilson looks primed for the slot role that Jamison Crowder has just vacated, and has clear draft capital. If Moore isn’t able to live up to the hype, then Wilson is the next man up in the offense.
Davis is going to be the third option for fantasy, but is likely to have more of a real-life impact. I’m not looking to draft him, given the way the offense is likely to pan out.
Notable Players- C.J. Uzomah & Tyler Conklin
As I’ve said in other previews, if you have two TEs you don’t really have any for fantasy. With the team likely to split work between Uzomah and Conklin, there really isn’t much fantasy appeal.
Even if the team opted for just one of the players I’d be looking to steer clear, so with two? Forget it.
