Start’Em
Trevor Lawrence @DET
Trevor Lawrence has seen his share of inconsistencies this season but was strong in Week 12. This week Lawrence gets a matchup with the Lions defense currently ranked 32nd among pass defenses. The Lions allow an average of 23.8 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks and Lawrence figures to be a solid option it was figures to be an offensive bonanza. Lawrence is my QB Start of the Week. Fire him up as a mid-range QB1.
Justin Herbert v LV
Herbert is starting to get some of his weapons back and it’s perfect timing as his schedule is very favorable. This week he gets the 31st ranked pass defense in the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders allow 20.9 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks and Herbert will rain down points in this division matchup. Herbert could easily finish as the overall QB! this week, start him!
Jimmy Garoppolo @MIA
Jimmy finds his way into my start column for the third straight week and has been a hit and a miss so far. This week he gets a Dolphins defense that allow 20.6 points per game to opposing quarterbacks and Jimmy should have little trouble racking up points. Jimmy can be started confidently as a low end QB1.
Sit’Em
Ryan Tannehill v PHI
Tannehill is my QB Sit of the Week. The titans continuing winning despite Tannehill’s lackluster play. This week he faces the Eagles and I recommend sitting any player possible against Philly. The Eagles allow 10.1 points per game to opposing quarterbacks and Tannehill simply has no upside this week. Sit him!
Matt Ryan v DAL
Matty Ice will be ice cold in Week 13. Ryan draws a Cowboys defense that is ranked 4th against opposing quarterbacks allowing only 12.8 points per game, but the cowboys seem destined to climb even higher as they have been elite as of late. The Colts and Ryan are going to struggle early and often this week against Dallas and Ryan is a must sit.
Start ‘Em
Nick Chubb @HOU
The focus of this game is going to be Deshaun Watson but it’s Nick Chubb who will be the player of the game. The Texans ranked last against the run allowing 27.6 fantasy points per game to running backs and Chubb is likely to go King Henry mode this week and total 200+ yards and multiple touchdowns. Chubb will be a week winner this week and needs to be started everywhere.
Dameon Pierce @CLE
Pierce looks to have hit the rookie wall lately but the Cleveland Browns are going to remedy that in Week 13. Cleveland is second to last against the run and Pierce figures to join Chubb as a RB that will rack up fantasy points in this matchup. Start Pierce this week!
Josh Jacobs v SEA
Jacobs is coming off a career game that seen him top 300 total yards from scrimmage and if he is able to play this week he could very well see another huge week. Jacobs gets the 28th ranked Chargers defense that couldn’t stop a high school run game and Jacobs is a must start against them!
Sit ‘Em
Latavius Murray @BAL
The Broncos are a mess on offense and while Murray has seen the majority of the work in Denver he faces a solid Ravens run defense this week that allows 17.8 points per game to running backs. The snap share is never guaranteed in this backfield and between that and the matchup I prefer to sit Murray where I can.
Alvin Kamara @TB
Alvin Kamara will be my RB Sit of the Week for the second straight week and as a Saints fan that saddens me, but for the second straight week this dumpster fire of an offense lines up against one of the NFL’s elite run defense in the Tampa bay Buccaneers. Kamara has been unplayable for the last month and that will continue in Week 13 as he will once again be relying on a touchdown to save managers from a disastrous showing.
Start ‘Em
Drake London v PIT
London hasn’t looked great in his rookie year but with Kyle Pitts out for the season and the Falcons drawing a favorable matchup against a Steelers defense ranked last against wide receivers this should be the week he finally gets back on track. London can be started as a WR2 this week.
AJ Brown @TEN
I normally prefer to avoid attaching myself to Brown, between injuries and poorly timed dud weeks he has cost me my fair share of fantasy matchups, but this week he gets a revenge game against the team that soured on him and traded him instead of paying up. Add in that this revenge game is against a brutal Titans pass defense and AJ Brown is a surefire high end WR1 this week. As terrifying as it is, AJ Brown is my WR Start of the Week. Start AJ and watch him punish the Titans for their mistake.
George Pickens @ATL
Pickens has looked every bit the WR1 in Pittsburgh since Kenny Pickett took over at quarterback. Look for that trend to continue against the 30th ranked Falcons defense as Pickens cements himself as an elite receiver. The Falcons allow opposing wide receivers 32.4 points per game and there is no reason that Pickens can’t reach that total on his own this week. Fire him up as a low end WR1.
Sit ’em
Devin Duvernay @DEN
Duvernay has filled in admirably for a depleted Ravens offense but has faded lately being overtaken by Demarcus Robinson for targets. Duvernay faces a Broncos offense that simply shuts down everything and this week will be no exception. Look for Duvernay to drop a bomb in your lineup and sit him confidently.
Curtis Samuel v NYG
Curtis Samuel is my WR Sit of the Week. Samuel started off quick this season but has since taped off in production. This week he faces a tough Ginats pass defense allowing 22.8 points per game to receivers and this Heinicke led passing attack figures to struggle. You shouldn’t be relying on Samuel at this point in the season but if you are, make other arrangements.
Start ‘Em
Tyler Higbee v SEA
My TE Start of the Week has been solid all season but put up a massive dud last week, this week will see Higbee rebound against a Seahawks pass defense that is like Christmas for opposing tight ends. The Seahawks allow 15.4 points per game to tight ends and Higbee will be a touchdown away from a top 3 tight end game. Start him a TE1.
George Kittle v MIA
The 49ers pass catchers have been inconsistent at time largely due to there being too many mouths to feed. This week none of that will matter as they will have to score often to keep up with the Dolphins. The Dolphins are the second best tight end matchup and Kittle should play a large role in this shootout in week 13.
Gerald Everett @LV
Everett gets a cupcake matchup against the 27th ranked Raiders pass defense and this high flying take should be healthy and ready to take flight. Look for Everett to score and provide decent numbers. Fire up Everett as a low end TE1.
Sit ’em
Cade Otton/Cameron Brate @NO
Whoever the Buccaneers choose to start at tight end against the Saints is someone best left on your bench. The Saints defense can’t stop much but tight ends seem to be the exception to that rule. The Saints ranked as the worst matchup to opposing tight end largely because every other position beats them so badly. The Bucs have too many pass catchers to trust anyone this far down in the pecking order. Sit Tampa Bay tight ends.
Mike Gesicki @SF
There may not be a more inconsistent and frustrating tight end in football than Gesicki and this week will again be one of those frustration weeks. San Francisco is a lockdown matchup against tight ends and there is simply no way that Gesicki will figure largely into this passing attack. Sit him!
Start ‘Em
Dallas Cowboys @IND
You probably don’t need to hear this, but start the Cowboys D/ST. They are elite most weeks and this week against the Colts anemic offense will be no different. Indianapolis is a gold mine for defensive points and the Cowboys are set up to reap the rewards. They are my DST Start of the Week and are a no doubt locked in start this week.
Seattle Seahawks @LAR
The Rams are the second gold mine for defensive units and the Seahawks are the beneficiary of them. The Rams allow 10.5 points to opposing D/ST’s and with Bryce Perkins set to start again at QB the Seahawks are a pick six away from a monster week. Start Seattle.
Sit ‘Em
Cincinnati Bengals v KC
You should never start a defense against the Kansas City Chiefs, this is true even more when the defense in question is totally decimated in the secondary. The Chiefs give up an average of 3.3 points to opposing defenses and that total may be generous for the Bengal this week. The Bengals are my DST Sit of the Week.
Indianapolis Colts v DAL
The Colts are terrible and the Cowboys are elite. That’s the case here! The Cowboys should absolutely destroy the Colts and could easily put up 40+ points. There is no path that ends with the Colts being a startable defense this week. Sit them everywhere.
Start ‘Em
Harrison Butker @CIN
Butker has struggles with injuries this season but the Bengals can quickly get him back on track. The Bengals are the best matchup for opposing kickers and there is little reason to think that Butker will have anything less than 3-4 extra points and a handful of field goals. Butker is my PK Start of the Week and could be PK1 at weeks’ end.
Ryan Succop @NO
As I stated before, the Saints can’t stop any position besides tight end. That is most evident at kicker where they allow the third most points per game. The buccaneers offense has lacked punch this season but the Saints will remedy that and Succop will rack up points. Start him as a top 5 kicker.
Sit ‘Em
Jason Sanders v SF
Unlike the Saints, the 49ers are a tough matchup for all positions and kicker is no exception. They rank as the worst fantasy matchup for kickers allowing an average of 4.5 points per game to opposing kickers. Sit Sanders wherever you can and avoid a possible dud week.
Will Lutz v TB
Lutz has historically been a solid kicker but it’s difficult for kickers to kick field goals when their offense can’t move the ball and that’s the case for Lutz. Lutz is my PK Sit of the Week and if you are forced to start him you will have to hope the Saints can get a short field at some point allowing Lutz to hit from long distance to get on the board.
