Welcome to Week 18 of the 2022 season IDP Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em series. This is it, the last week of the regular season. Time to buckle the chin strap and play the best IDPs possible. Let’s take a look at some must plays in week 18.
As always, if you are struggling with a decision you can checkout our rankings for each Week. Or, if you want a more personal touch, reach out on social media. You can find us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Or jump into our Discord server.
Start ‘Em
Cameron Heyward v CLE
It could be the Hall of Fame-bound Steeler’s last game. He will bring the juice to achieve never having a losing season in his career. There is a playoff chance for the Steelers and they have a chance to dominate the Browns in all three faces of the game. Count on the big fella getting to Watson.
Cameron Jordan v CAR
Cameron is coming off of a monster game and needs 1.5 sacks to have double-digit sacks for the seventh time in his career. It could be his last game as well. Jordan just eclipsed the Saints’ sack record and he could pad it before he calls it a career.
JJ Watt @SF
It is Watt’s last game. He reached his 10-sack incentive for a 7-digit bonus, but Watt will have plenty of emotion and firepower for the last game of his career. Expect him to get one more sack before he hangs up the cleats.
All three of these DL were drafted in the 2011 draft class, and all three are Canton (Hall of Fame) bound.
Start ‘Em
Kaden Elliss v CAR
Elliss has a chance to solidify a starting job, if not with the Saints then another team. He has had a breakout year, and although the Saints are eliminated expect Elliss to bring his usual aggressive style. A 10-tackle game is well within reach.
Joe Thomas v MIN
The veteran has been playing well in the absence of J. Sanborn. He has 6 or more tackles in each of the past three games. His snap count has gone up in those three weeks also. He has a high floor, plug-and-play if you have starters sitting out for the playoffs. Look for 8 or more tackles from the Vet.
Ja’Whuan Bentley @BUF
He has been one of the top ten LBs for the past month. He has 9 or more tackles the past four games. He is playing for a potential playoff spot and will need to step it up against a high-powered Bills offense that could be playing with a lot of emotion.
Start ‘Em
Isaiah Simmons @SF
The breakout candidate needs 15 tackles to earn 100 for the year. Quite the feat since he was used sparingly in the beginning of the season. It would be a season-high, but he does have two games with over 10. Look for the do it all DB to get over a 10 to end his season on a high note.
Grant Delpit @PIT
Delpit has been on fire lately. He has 24 tackles and 3 interceptions in his past three games. They travel to their bitter rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in what is a meaningful game. He has a high snap percentage, high tackle volume, and high point floor. Look no further for a reliable IDP to help you win your league.
Nate Hobbs v KC
Hobbs has been a solid player and is up against the Chiefs this week. He has 37 tackles in the past five weeks, including 8 tackles last week. He has a high point floor and should see plenty of volume against Patrick Mahomes and the high-powered Chiefs offense.
With the last week of the season being so bizarre, it is difficult to know who is in and who is out at midweek. Some names to keep an eye on due to the fact they miss due to injury or rest for playoffs.
As always look 30 minutes prior to all kickoffs to make sure your players are in. It would be devastating to lose a championship due to not having a full roster.
Thank you for reading all season, I hope the advice has won you some weeks and brings you home the hardware this week. It’s been my pleasure to write Play or Pine for eight years. If you have any fantasy football questions. Please do not hesitate to ask. As always…
