Week 5 is in the books, so we turn our attention to Week 6, and our Week IDP waiver wire pickups for the 2022 season. We are now starting to have to deal with bye weeks, which is always fun.
Rules for Selection & Order Priority
For a player to be considered to be added, they have to:
- Have an rostered % of 25% or under on Yahoo IDP leagues
- Players below are listed by their roster %, not priority. Know your league settings. If there is a high-priority add, you’ll know.
Danielle Hunter (MIN) @MIA 25% rostered
Hunter just falls into our criteria, but that’s likely to change this week. Working off the edge, Hunter has been a solid enough defender. Able to get into the backfield to cause disruption as well as tackle outside runners. Next up, he faces a Miami offensive line that has been struggling and might be wheeling out it’s third string QB.
Cameron Heyward (PIT) v TB 21% rostered
Heyward has had to step up for the Steelers, as the team adjust to losing T.J. Watt on the edge. A long time overlooked asset, Heyward has a few nice matchups before his bye week. Grab him and don’t look back with a reliable DL option.
Others to Consider
- Jonathan Allen (WAS) @CHI 17% rostered
- DeForest Buckner (IND) v JAX 17% rostered
- Kwity Paye (IND) v JAX 11% rostered
Zaire Franklin/ Bobby Okereke (IND) v JAX 23/ 22% rostered
The Colts defense is missing it’s focal piece as it has since the start of the season. Until the moment comes when Shaquille Leonard is able to return to the field in a meaningful way, Franklin and Okereke are worth adding in deeper leagues.
Dre Greenlaw (SF) @ATL 18% rostered
Greenlaw has been working effectively as a linebacker in the middle of the field for the 49ers. He has a nice tackle count (49), with 30 solo tackles, and has also recorded a few TFLs too.
Malcolm Rodriguez (DET) BYE 7% rostered
Rodriguez is going to be dropped in some leagues he was picked up in previously, after a struggling performance against the Patriots. With Rodriguez now on a bye week, it’s easy to just drop him. But, if you have the space on your bench, you should consider picking him up to hold. After all, he won’t have a bye week moving forward.
Others to Consider
- Demario Davis (NO) v CIN 24% rostered
- Tremaine Edmunds (BUF) @KC 19% rostered
- Cody Barton (SEA) v ARI 11% rostered
Donovan Wilson (DAL) @PHI 20% rostered
Wilson still has a really low ownership, despite putting up great numbers in the secondary. His tackle numbers are great, and he is a threat around the ball constantly. If he is available in your league, unless you have two premier talents, you should pick him up.
Eddie Jackson (CHI) v WAS 19% rostered
Jackson has seen a boost in the leagues he is in, but it’s still nowhere near high enough for his talent. My only thought is that the stink of the offense is rubbing off onto the defense? He is one of the top scorers at DB, HOW is he available in this many leagues!?
Others to Consider
- Jessie Bates III (CIN) @NO 21% rostered
- Cameron Dantzler Sr. (MIN) @MIA 2% rostered
