Welcome to Week 8 of the 2022 season IDP Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em series. Two successful weeks in a row for us. Let’s keep the momentum rolling. There are only 2 teams on byes, but there are great IDPs on both teams. This should allow for most teams to maximize their roster.
Bye Weeks
We now have teams on bye. For this week:
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Los Angeles Chargers
As always, if you are struggling with a decision you can checkout our rankings for each Week. Or, if you want a more personal touch, reach out on social media. You can find us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Or jump into our Discord server.
Start ‘Em
Dorance Armstrong v CHI
Armstrong likely is free, cleared waivers, and available. He is quietly having a wonderful season while media and opposing teams focus on Parsons and D. Law. 16 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery so far this season. Look for another sack against the decimated Bears O Line. Pick him up. Play him.
Haason Reddick v PIT
Reddick is coming off a bye, looking sharp, and is primed for a great game. This week is the Keystone State Showdown! That is to say Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia. He has only 14 tackles, but 4.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 pass defended, & 6 QB hits. He is Mr. Big Play and he will have a feast of big plays against an awful Steelers O Line.
Gregory Rousseau v GB
Rousseau hasn’t had a 10-point game in 4 weeks. That is likely to change as he plays a Packers team that has been out of rhythm and shuffling O Linemen like a poker dealer at a casino. Look for Rousseau to add to his 16 tackles and 4 sacks coming off a bye and at home against the discombobulated Packers.
Sit ‘Em
Rashan Gary @BUF
Gary is in concussion protocol and could miss his first game or be on a snap count when he returns. Pine him until more information is available and it is advised you pine him for the week.
Bye Week Watch
Chris Jones BYE
Jones was dropped in several leagues. If you have the space, scoop him up and hold him. He is currently the 11th ranked DL, and that is with his best play of the season being ripped away due to an awful penalty. You will have a top ten DL past his bye week for the rest of the season if you can pine him.
Start ‘Em
Deion Jones v CIN
Jones is starting! Hopefully you followed the advice of grabbing him and putting him on the pine last week. With Phillips torn pectoral, Jones steps in as starting LB on a team that has a good defense. It is time to unleash the beast against your FF foe. A 10+ tackle game is well within reach, in fact I would bet on it ;). Play him..
Bobby Okereke v WAS
Okereke is playing like an All-Pro. He is this weeks streaming option against the Commanders who allowed 2 top ten LBs last week. He should play 100% of the snaps, and keep his amazing 9.7 tackles per game pace up. The Colts can feel the season slipping away from them, hence the benching of Matt Ryan. Look for an emotional game from Bobby O.
Bobby Wagner v SF
Wagner is having a subpar year, and could have been dropped in a few leagues, and left on the pine in others. Return him to the starting line up against a team he knows well, the 49ers. San Fransisco runs often, Bobby has played them over 20 times in his career, and the Rams vs 49ers is currently the best rivalry in the conference. Bobby ‘Dubs’ Will get you the Dub this week. Play him.
Sit ‘Em
Malcolm Rodriguez v MIA
Rodriguez was hyped up and earning several points early in the season. The rookie has only 8 tackles over the past 2 games, and it could be less than 4 this week. The Dolphins bring a quick, uptempo offense which would be good for Rodriguez, expect a drop in snap count percentage. Pine him
Bye Week Watch
Drue Tranquill BYE
Tranquill is another LB that could have been dropped due to his bye week. Do not drop him! He is currently LB 12, which equates to LB1 in most leagues. A LB1 is worth a hold in almost every league. Trade for him if you can, pine him if you have him, scoop him if he’s available.
Start ‘Em
Sauce Gardner @SEA
Gardner is on a roll. Most of the time we encourage not chasing the points, but Sauce has had 10+ points in 5 of his last 6 games. We are not chasing anything. Playing against the Patriots this week, he could have an interception, sack, passes defended, and tackles regardless of who the QB is. Play him
Jonathan Owens v TEN
Owens has 56 tackles and 2 passes defended. Not the typical stat line for a safety, but Owens could see more tackles his way with the departure of K. Grugier-Hill. Houston plays the Titans and RB D. Henry this week. Look for the tackle machine to keep his pace of 9+ per game. Play him
Jordan Whitehead @SEA
Whitehead plays the Pats this week too. It’s not often there are two players from the same team in the same position on the Play, but the Jets should have a great defensive performance against a struggling Pats offense. He has 37 tackles, 4 passes defended, 1 interception. He is available in most leagues, Play him.
Sit ‘Em
Kyler Gordon @DAL
Gordon was a play last week, and he earned over 12 points. It was due to one play though, so lets temper expectations against the Cowboys this week. Look elsewhere and pine the rookie.
Adoree’ Jackson @SEA
Jackson is having an excellent season and scored 15.75 points last week. He is a starting corner and will earn tackles, but SEA will run behind Walker which should limit Jackson’s ceiling this week. Pine him and save him for later.
