It’s finally here- Week 9 of the 2022 season, and another DraftKings main slate. We are back offering you DFS advice to try and help you navigate your way to victories throughout the season. The players selected here are based on their price, their ability to hit value and likely ownership. The selections are leaning more towards GPP slates, rather than cash (50/50) slates. But let’s get into it

Kyler Murray v SEA ($7,400)
Call of Duty may have come out last week, but seems like Murray was able to still be effective last week. With DeAndre Hopkins back in the offense, the Cardinals are rolling nicely. That receiving threat has also allowed Murray the space to show his threat with his legs. Stacking Murray with Hopkins is one of the stacks I really liked for the week, and I’m not going to deter from that now.
Tua Tagovailoa @CHI ($6,700)
Tua was in play last week against a poor Detroit defense, and performed well. When you have receivers like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, you are always primed to torch any secondary through the air. The Bears defense has been ok against the pass, with the majority of teams attacking them on the ground, but then they haven’t faced an offense like Miami.
Justin Fields v MIA ($5,300)
Fields seems to have found a groove for himself, with him offering a very solid floor with his rushing ability, while also seeming like his receiving weapons have had a bit of a boost. The addition of Chase Claypool to the offense gives a nice compliment to Darnell Mooney, and really stretches the ceiling for Fields. The Dolphins defense is one that you can look to for production too.
Also consider Josh Allen @NYJ ($8,500), Joe Burrow v CAR ($6,600), Aaron Rodgers @DET ($5,900), Geno Smith @ARI ($5,800) & Trevor Lawrence v LV ($5,200)
Aaron Jones @DET ($7,400)
As a Packers fan, this season hasn’t been great to watch. The one highlight on offense has been the performances of Jones out of the backfield. The Detroit offense weren’t torn apart on the ground last week, but they are still a poor defense. Jones is one player on this slate that could score 3TDs and I wouldn’t be shocked.
Travis Etienne v LV ($6,300)
Etienne is carrying the Jaguars offense at the moment. I was there watching him last week run up and down the field. With the Raiders suffering last week against Alvin Kamara, they have to face a different receiving back. The floor is safe, the ceiling is high. Yes please
Jamaal Williams v GB ($5,900)
Williams continues to find a way into the endzone, even with D’Andre Swift returning to the field. The fact of the matter is that Detroit’s offense has been able to establish the run, and that’s when it operates at it’s best. Then, a matchup against the Packers who limit the play through the air, but you can run on just fine, Williams has sneaky value with redzone upside.
Cordarrelle Patterson v LAC ($5,800)
Patterson is set to return to action after being activated from IR this week. This matchup is great too, against a Chargers defensive front that has struggled all season, there is upside here. The Falcons offense runs more than nearly any other team in the league, and Patterson should be able to regain his workhorse role out of the backfield here. The only thing to track is whether he is going to be on a snap count (which could happen, I just think he is likely to walk straight back into the offense).
Also consider Austin Ekeler @ATL ($8,800), Josh Jacobs @JAX ($7,300), Kenneth Walker III @ARI ($6,200), Rhamondre Stevenson v IND ($6,200), James Conner v SEA ($5,800), Devin Singletary @NYJ ($5,700)
DeAndre Hopkins v SEA ($7,900)
Hopkins stepped back into the fold for the Cardinals just when they needed it, and immediately has made an impact. Hopkins has seen 27 targets in two games, and until Marquise Brown returns, he should see a similar number per game. My favorite stacking option with Kyler Murray, but with his ability in the offense I’m fine playing him as a standalone piece (or a bring-back with Seattle players)
Tyler Lockett @ARI ($6,100)
Lockett didn’t really do what was expected when he last faced the Cardinals secondary, he caught just 2 passes for 17 yards. But that game really didn’t live up to the billing. Since then, he has averaged 8 targets in the offense, and caught an average of 6 for just over 50 yards and 0.5TDs (would be 1 if he hadn’t dropped one). A nice bring-back if you go for a Cardinals stack.
Joshua Palmer @ATL ($5,100)
Palmer looks like he is set to return to the field, after missing the previous game due to being in the concussion protocol. Which is just as well for the Chargers, as Keenan Allen looks like he has had a set back with his hamstring injury to combine with Mike Williams out. When Palmer has needed to step up as a receiver, he has managed to perform. Against a poor Falcons secondary, this feels like a nice (but chalky) play.
Darnell Mooney v MIA ($4,700)
Mooney is a risky but interesting selection to pair with Fields if you go that way. The Dolphins secondary has given up plenty of chunk plays through the air, and Mooney is a nice deep threat. The Bears offense isn’t a high volume one, but Mooney has the ability to convert what he is getting through the air. If he scores his first TD of the season, then he would be a great play at the price.
Zay Jones v LV ($4,100)
Jones isn’t the primary receiver in the offense, but he is working in a completely different manner from Christian Kirk. That has feed him from the battle of Kirk v Engram in the middle of the field. Jones is a nice salary saver on the slate, with a matchup against a secondary that has struggled to limit receivers this season, in a game that has a decent O/U.
Also consider Tyreek Hill @CHI ($8,500), DK Metcalf @ARI ($6,400), Terry McLaurin v MIN ($5,900), DJ Moore @CIN ($5,800), Curtis Samuel v MIN ($5,200), Rondale Moore v SEA ($5,200) & Garrett Wilson v BUF ($4,800)
Zach Ertz v SEA ($5,100)
Who are Seattle playing…….yep Arizona, ok so their TE would be in consideration regardless. The fact that Ertz is an important part of this offense is fantastic. Yes, Ertz is the most expensive play at the position, but the pricetag isn’t out of this world. A few weeks ago, Ertz caught 7 passes for 70 yards, something he should be able to achieve again with ease in this one. Especially if the game starts to live up to the high O/U given by Vegas.
Robert Tonyan @DET ($3,800)
Another Packer to consider? But the offense hasn’t been great? Well, that’s just how bad the Detroit defense has been. Tonyan is getting plenty of looks in the offense, and the Packers are coming into this game with question marks over some of their receiving options. If Tonyan was to convert one of his targets into a score he could have a really nice game.
Evan Engram v LV ($3,300)
Engram is a nice TE option on the slate, with his importance in the offense. He has been getting a decent target share, and operating in the same part of the of the field as Christian Kirk. In fact, the team have really been using him as a large slot receiver in recent weeks, but crucially looking his way in the redzone which isn’t happening for Kirk at the moment.
Also consider Gerald Everett @ATL ($4,800), Tyler Higbee @TB ($3,700), Hayden Hurst v CAR ($3,600) & Tyler Conklin v BUF ($3,200)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers v LAR ($3,000)
The Rams offensive line is really not strong, and that has led to Matthew Stafford getting sacked often and making poor decisions leading to turnovers. When you then consider the strength of the defensive line of Tampa Bay, they are a strong play on the slate.
Indianapolis Colts @NE ($2,700)
The Colts defense are a strong real-life unit, but one that hasn’t really led to fantasy performances. In this matchup though, that should change. The Patriots are happy to run the ball early and often, and when they don’t, Mac Jones has been more than happy to turn the ball over.
Carolina Panthers @CIN ($2,300)
The Panthers defense are a decent unit, with a good pass rush. I’m not saying that the Bengals aren’t a great offense, because they are. The thing is the struggles that Joe Burrow had to start the year where when he was under pressure in the pocket and getting sacked. I can see the same thing happening in this one.
