Welcome to Week 9 of the 2022 season IDP Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em series. Two successful weeks in a row for us. Let’s keep the momentum rolling. There are only 2 teams on byes, but there are great IDPs on both teams. This should allow for most teams to maximize their roster.
Bye Weeks
We now have teams on bye. For this week:
- Cleveland Brown
- Dallas Cowboys
- Denver Broncos
- New York Giants
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- San Francisco 49ers
Remember some FF GMs/Coaches will drop amazing players just because they are on a bye and not an offensive player. Keep an eye out for Hufanga, Bosa, Garrett, Parsons, Fitzpatrick, Heyward, M. Jack, and more.
As always, if you are struggling with a decision you can checkout our rankings for each Week. Or, if you want a more personal touch, reach out on social media. You can find us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Or jump into our Discord server.
Start ‘Em
Matthew Judon v IND
Judon is our streaming option for the week. He had his worst game of the season last week earning only 2 tackles and 4.5 points. This week he is playing a patchwork offensive line, the 2nd string QB, and possibly the 3rd string RB. He is tied for 1st in sacks with 8.5. Look for a strong performance from Judon against the Colts that seem to be looking to next year.
Chris Jones v TEN
Jones is coming off of a bye week, and should see plenty of RB King Henry. He has 5 sacks on the season, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. He could easily get to the Titans QB and make a big play this week. He is one of the most dominant DL on tape. Play him.
Jaelan Phillips @CHI
Phillips has been underwhelming in his 2nd season. With the addition of Bradley Chubb, he is no longer the teams best pass rusher. This should allow for Phillips to see fewer double teams and more sack opportunities. He has the speed to chase down Chicago QB Justin Fields this week, Play him.
Sit ‘Em
Montez Sweat v MIN
Sweat has had decent games but the Vikings are on a roll. Cook runs outside the tackles and is too quick for most DL him down. Pine him.
Jeffery Simmons @KC
Simmons has been mentioned on the Play side of this article, but he now finds himself on the pine. His ankle is injured and he played a season low 35 snaps last week, but saved his points with a sack. That was against Houston, and this week they play the Chiefs. He is as tough as they come, but the Chiefs have a much better offensive line, pine him.
Start ‘Em
Roquan Smith @NO
Smith has had talk around a dip in production with learning a new defense. Do not fear, the cream rises to the top. While some audibles and communication errors are bound to happen, his tackling will be the same. For a LB, flowing to the football is as natural and instinctive as it is for a goalie to stop a ball trying to get into his net. You play the #2 LB as long as he’s on the field.
Bradley Chubb @CHI
Chubb has a new home, new team, and new contract worth over $100 million dollars. You could say he’s on a roll. Expect that to continue against the lowly Bears. Fields has been playing much better, but is still scrambling and holding the ball longer then he should. This should allow for Chubb to reward the organization (and fans) with a big play this Sunday. Play him.
LaVonte David v LAR
David is in his 10th year and his production is slowing down. Yet he still has 60 tackles. Tampa Bay was embarrassed last week, and desperately need to find a win. They are hosting the Rams coming off of a bye. David has 12 interceptions in his career, and could snag one off of Stafford. Look for a big play from the Captain. Play him
Sit ‘Em
DeVondre Campbell @DET
Campbell is currently LB 12. He exited last week’s game, hasn’t logged a practice all week, and Quay Walker has wore the green dot for communication. All bad indications for Campbell’s availability. Do not drop him, pine him and hope he is 100% soon.
Logan Wilson v CAR
Wilson had 8 tackles in his return last week. He is up against the Panthers this week, who are still finding their identity. If the Bengals bounce back and control the clock it could limit Wilson’s opportunities. Pine him.
Start ‘Em
Isaiah Simmons v SEA
Simmons has been on impressive run this month. He has earned 10 or more points in the past 4 games. He is in a divisional rivalry match against the 1st place Seahawks this Sunday. Geno has been effective passing and completing which should allow for more tackle opportunities for Simmons. He should provide more support in the run game should Walker III get more volume. Play him this week.
Richie Grant v LAC
Grant is likely available in your league. The 2021 2nd rd pick is having a good year as a starter. He has recorded 5 or more tackles in every game but one this season. The Falcons are playing the Chargers which will be without starting players all across their offense. There could be a heavy dose of the run game as well, expect Grant to have a high tackle game.
Rasual Douglas @DET
Douglas is likely available in your league despite having back-to-back 20+ point games. He earned 10 tackles week 7 and had a sack and an interception last week. Usually DBs have momentum for a few weeks as being a DB requires great mental strength. He is up against the pass-happy Lions, and he could pick off Goff this week. Pick him and Play him if you are in a jam on this large bye week.
Sit ‘Em
L’Jarius Sneed v TEN
Sneed has been absolutely everything our model said he would be this year, and is currently the 5th highest scoring DB. He is fresh off the bye, on a great defense, and has 53 tackles and 3.5 sacks on the year. However this week he will likely be hesitant to tackle King Henry, pine him.
Budda Baker v SEA
Baker is the leading tackler on his team, and is having a steady if not spectacular year. He has not practiced this week, and could be in danger of missing some time. Keep an eye on the situation and have a back up plan. Pine him until he is cleared.
