Welcome to another exciting week of NFL action from the 2023 season, and my attempts to help you make crucial decisions for your IDP lineup for Week 10. As we enter Week 10 of the 2023 NFL season, IDP managers are searching for the perfect IDP gems to bolster their lineups. This week, we’ve set our sights on three standout individual defensive players (IDP): Amani Hooker of the Titans, Micah McFadden of the Giants, and Boye Mafe of the Seahawks. The success of these players will hinge on their ability to leverage their week 9 experiences and capitalize on the weaknesses of their upcoming opponents.
Boye Mafe (DL, SEA) v WAS
Week 9 Stats: 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF.
Week 10 Projection: 6 tackles, 1 sack & 1 PD.
Mafe had a notable performance in week 9 with a strip-sack against the Ravens. With 6 tackles, 5 of them solo, and a sack recorded in that game, Mafe’s momentum is high. His season stats include 6 sacks and a forced fumble, reflecting his pass-rushing prowess. The Seahawks’ DL will be looking to exploit the Commanders’ offensive line, particularly in passing situations where his speed and technique could lead to quarterback pressures and potential sacks.
Micah McFadden (LB, NYG) @DAL
Week 9 Stats: 10 tackles, 1 sack & 1 PD.
Week 10 Projection: 11 tackles, 1.5 sacks & 1 PD.
McFadden of the Giants will go into the Dallas game after a solid week 9 against the Raiders, with 6 tackles and 2 for loss. McFadden’s season totals of 51 tackles, 7 for loss, 0.5 sacks, 1 interception, and 2 pass deflections highlight his ability to be a disruptive force in the middle of the field. Against the Cowboys, McFadden’s role will be significant in containing both the run and short-to-intermediate passing game, which could be instrumental in the Giants’ defensive scheme.
Amani Hooker (DB, TEN) @TB
Week 9 Stats: 7 tackles, 1 INT & 2 PDs.
Week 10 Projection: 8 tackles, 0.5 sacks, 1 INT & 2 PDs.
Hooker enters week 10 after a steady performance in week 9 against the Steelers, where he tallied 7 tackles. Overall, Hooker has accumulated 45 tackles, 3 for loss, 1 interception, and 4 passes defended in the season. The Titans DB will face a Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense, which could provide Hooker with numerous opportunities to defend against both deep threats and underneath routes. His ability to disrupt passes and support in tackling will be crucial against a dynamic Buccaneers offense.
The data-driven projections suggest they’ll have their moments of IDP glory, whether it’s through interceptions, tackles, sacks, or forced fumbles. Keep a close eye on these players and may your Week 10 be filled with IDP stats! If you would like to see more of our rankings and projections you can check out our articles here.
