Welcome to Week 10 of the 2023 season IDP Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em series. For those new to the article, know that Play or Pine will cover IDPs which might seem like an obvious start. The reason is that IDP leagues vary so much; one-time use for the season, 2 IDP starters in 10 team leagues, 11 starters in 14 team leagues, and roster requirements of various sorts throughout the world. So if one seems obvious it could be because the projections indicate this could be their best week of the season.
Have mercy! We are entering into the double-digits of fantasy football, it moves entirely too fast. The NFL is set with crucial games this week, but some of the NFL’s best are on bye weeks. The Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles are on bye week. Get them out of your starting roster. Not to worry though, there are still excellent plays for this NFL Week 10. But first, a look back at Week 9 Play or Pine.

Results From Last Week
Week 9 Starts

- DL Jonathan Greenard (HOU) 9.00pts – 2 tackles, 3 QB Hits
- LB Jamin Davis (WAS) 12.75pts – 9 tackles, 1 PD
- LB Jahlani Tavai (NE) 10.00pts – 6 tackles, 1 FF
- DB Josh Metellus (MIN) 17.00pts – 5 tackles, 1 FR, 1 TFL
- DB Justin Reid (KC) 4.50pts – 3 tackles
Week 9 Sits
- DL Montez Sweat (CHI) 6.00pts – 2 tackle, 1 PD
- LB Devin White (TB) 20.50pts – 9 tackles, 2 QB Hits, 1 sack, 1 TFL
- DB Dax Hill (CIN) 4.50pts – 2 tackles, 1 PD
Another successful week for the plays, but no high scores. Above average play from the plays, with Josh Metellus leading the way with 17 points. Devin White had the best statistical performance of the season, making the pines two out of three for the week. It was a bold pine prediction and sometimes they do not go as planned. But Montez Sweat and Dax Hill were perfectly suited for the pine this week. However it is time to move onto week ten.
Start ‘Em
Micah Parsons (DAL) v NYG
This is the one time use for the fan favorite. Micah Parsons has at least one sack in three straight games and eight total on the season. This week the Dallas Cowboys are going against the New York Giants, who haven’t been able to get the starting quarterback to the end of the game… in three games. The Giants have an atrocious offensive line, and are on their third-string quarterback, who could be the worst starting quarterback of week ten. Trust Parsons for your one-and-done drafts this week… he will deliver.
Jermaine Johnson (NYJ) @LV
Johnson has been a bright spot for the lowly New York Jets. He is an unsung hero of a great defense, and delivers on his end of the deal. He has 2.5 sacks in the past two weeks and is up against a dismal Las Vegas Raiders offense. Johnson is not the focal point of opposing Offensive Coordinators and this allows him to take advantage of mismatches. Trust JJ to get the sacks this week.
Sit ‘Em
AJ Epenesa (BUF) v DEN
AJ has been a play for this column, but traveling to Denver and trying to sack the elusive Russell Wilson will not be easy. He has only five tackles in the past three games, but he does have six sacks on the season. However a sack dependent player against a mobile quarterback is rarely a good play. Pine him.
Start ‘Em
Foye Oluokun (JAX) v SF
Another one-time use player is on deck as well Mr. IDP, Foye Oluokun, is back from a bye week and is still the #1 ranked IDP with 189 points. The man has led the IDP market as the top scorer the past two seasons, and is the definition of a tackling machine. The Jags also allow the most receptions to the running back position… guess who the Jaguars play this week, the San Francisco 49ers. The running back of that team is Christian McCaffery, THE receiving RB. Foye will be used in my personal one-and-done draft, and he should be in yours too.
Boye Mafe (SEA) v WAS
Mafe has dual designation on Sleeper but could be listed as a DL as well. Either way get him in your lineup as the Seattle Seahawks are playing the Washington Commanders visit Seattle. The Commanders pass more than any team in the league, and Mafe has the longest sack streak in the league with six straight games! He has 20 tackles in the past five weeks, and should have another sack this week, bringing down Howell for the points.
Sit ‘Em
Tremaine Edmunds (CHI) v CAR
Edmunds was injured last week and in the week prior against the New Orleans Saints. He did not practice Tuesday, and is trending to not playing Thursday. He has been a massive piece of the Chicago Bears new defense, but may not have the opportunity to display his skills this week. Look elsewhere this week but do not drop him. He has the Browns, Cardinals, and Falcons for the fantasy football playoffs. Pine him.
Start ‘Em
Paulson Adebo (NO) @MIN
This man has been on a tear lately, nineteen or more points the past three weeks! He is likely available in your league, and almost all leagues… go get him! He has been the New Orleans Saints best defensive back, and will be eventually owned if this pace keeps up. In addition to the big plays he has seven tackles in two of his last three games. Trust him against Joshua Dobbs who has not had two weeks of practice. Another turnover is well within reach.
Charvarius Ward (SF) @JAX
Ward is coming off a bye week and playing against one of the most productive offenses in the league, the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is one of the most targeted players for the 49ers defense, and this Sunday won’t be any different. Ward has been on 92% of San Francisco defensive snaps too. A seven-plus tackle game is easily obtainable, and possibly an interception off of Trevor Lawerence. Play the veteran.
Sit ‘Em
Kenny Moore (IND) @NE
Moore was the leading scorer of week 9, and is the highest scoring DB this season with 169 points. He is having an excellent year, but this week he is up against the New England Patriots. He may not have the opportunities to make tackles in the passing game, and Mac Jones could be instructed to not throw in his area. Moore is a fantastic IDP, and should not be dropped but pine him this week.
