Welcome to another exciting week of NFL action from the 2023 season, and my attempts to help you make crucial decisions for your IDP lineup for Week 11. In this article, I will focus on three standout IDPs: Jonathan Owens of the Green Bay Packers, Jerome Baker of the Miami Dolphins, and DJ Wonnum of the Minnesota Vikings. Fantasy Football Freaks should keep a close eye on these three IDPs as they look to build on their 2023 defensive states. I’ll touch on their Week 10 performances (Jerome Baker had a bye in week 10, I’ll recap his week 9 stats) and project their Week 11 stats. Make sure to check your fantasy football lineups and consider starting these players for a competitive edge in your IDP leagues.
DJ Wonnum (DL, MIN) @DEN
Week 10 Stats: 4 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL.
Week 11 Projection: 6 tackles, 2 sacks & 1 TFL.
Wonnum, the talented defensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings, made a significant impact in the game against the Saints. He demonstrated his ability to penetrate the offensive line and cause chaos for the Saints offensive scheme. DJ Wonnum’s versatility as a defensive lineman allows him to excel in both run defense and pass rushing. As the Vikings prepare to take on the Broncos in Week 11, Wonnum is poised to be a central figure in their defensive strategy. Whether it’s sacking the quarterback or stopping the run, Wonnum has the potential to be a difference-maker.
Jerome Baker (LB, MIA) v LC
Week 9 Stats: 2 tackles (Week 10 on bye).
Week 11 Projection: 8 tackles, 1 sack & 1 FF.
Baker, the talented linebacker for the Miami Dolphins, has had a solid performance between the lines in 2023. In Week 11, expect Baker to play a pivotal role in containing the Raiders’ passing attack and providing support against the run. He has the agility and football IQ to make tackles in the open field and the speed to track down ball carriers from sideline to sideline. Baker’s consistent play and versatility as a linebacker make him a key player to watch for the Miami Dolphins. While Week 9 was a challenging matchup against the Chiefs, Baker’s Week 11 clash with the Raiders provides him with another opportunity to help lead the Dolphins’ defense to success.
Jonathan Owens (DB, GB) v LAC
Week 10 Stats: 8 tackles, 1 PD.
Week 11 Projection: 6 tackles, 1 INT & 3 PDs.
Owens’ versatility as a defensive back makes him an asset for the Packers. Whether it’s covering receivers in man-to-man situations or providing support in zone coverage, Owens has shown the ability to adapt to different defensive schemes. In Week 11, Jonathan Owens is expected to be a key factor in Green Bay’s game plan to limit the Chargers’ passing game. His ability to break up passes and create turnovers will be critical in disrupting Herbert’s rhythm. Additionally, his tackling skills will be crucial in preventing yards after the catch and keeping Chargers’ receivers in check.
The data-driven projections suggest they’ll have their moments of IDP glory, whether it’s through interceptions, tackles, sacks, or forced fumbles. Keep a close eye on these players and may your Week 11 be filled with IDP stats! If you would like to see more of our rankings and projections you can check out our articles here.
