2023 Week 12 DraftKings Stacks

Ahead of our slate breakers article, I thought I’d write up some of my favorite DraftKings stacks for Week 12 of the 2023 season. There are a few articles you can find on why stacking is effective for DFS, so we won’t recap that here.

Instead, I’ll outline the criteria for being included:

  • Main slate only
  • Stack will include QB & 2 other players (optional bring back noted)

Stack 1 - Jacksonville Jaguars (@HOU)

O/U 47.5

Spread JAX -1.5 (JAX implied 25 Pts)

QB Trevor Lawrence ($6,400)
WR Calvin Ridley ($6,000)
WR Christian Kirk/ TE Evan Engram ($5,700/ $4,200)

Total $18,100/ $16,600

Optional bring-back Tank Dell (HOU) +$6,900

Lawrence had a great game last week against the Titans, and will look to keep that going here. Threw for 262 yards and two scores, and also rushed for 17 yards and had another two TDs. The Texans have started to allow more through the air as they have tightened their ground defense, giving Lawrence a nice matchup. Ridley had a great game last week too, with Zay Jones opening up the field for Ridley to make plays underneath. The other side I’m between Kirk or Engram. Kirk has been seeing alot of the work out of the slot, but has seen his production regress a little recently. I feel like I’ll mainly opt for Engram as the Texans give up the 4th most points to the position and with his target share, this could be a great chance for him to score his first TD.

Bringing back with Dell gives you the (current) preferred target for Stroud. Dell has been great recently, with a total of 20 catches for 319 yards and 4 TDs in his last three games. A little pricey, but you save a chunk on the main stack here.

Stack 2 - Indianapolis Colts (v TB)

O/U 43.5

Spread IND -3 (IND implied 23 Pts)

QB Gardner Minshew ($5,100)
WR Michael Pittman ($6,800)
WR Josh Downs ($4,800)

Total $16,700

Optional bring-back Mike Evans (TB) +$7,400

The Colts stack is more about the matchup than anything else. The Tampa Bay secondary is one to target, with the QBs that they have faced having great games against them (if you take out Will Levis’ struggle in Week 10). With the Colts rested out of their bye, and a cheap QB, it’s not a bad play. Grabbing Pittman with Minshew gives you a MASSIVE part of his offense with around 30% of the teams targets. Add in the cheap play of Downs and you are ready to roll here with a stack that leaves plenty on the table.

The bring-back of Evans gives you another target hog in this game. Evans has scored in four of his last 5 games and have another 1,000 yard season. Mayfield has been accurate this season and this game has some shootout potential.

Stack 3 - Los Angeles Rams (v ARI)

O/U 44.5

Spread LAR +1.5 (LAR implied 21 Pts)

QB Matthew Stafford ($6,300)
WR Cooper Kupp ($8,000)
WR Puka Nacua/ Tutu Atwell ($7,600/ $4,100)

Total $21,900/ $18,400

Optional bring-back Trey McBride (ARI) +$4,700

This is an expensive one, so be prepared to scrape the barrell elsewhere. Stafford has been a little disappointing this season with just one game with multiple passing TDs, but he has had 3 games with 300+ yards. With the return of Kyren Williams this week this feels a little risky too, as they have been fine giving him the ball in the redzone. But, the Cardinals secondary is one that you can attack. Kupp was injured, but I can’t imagine they would take a risk with his health (given their position this season). He seems like he is going to be playing, so you have to play him. Add in Nacua and you have all of the targets for a QB that can move the ball and will want to move the ball downfield here. Atwell has some sneaky value too, if Kupp were to suffer any type of set back with his injury.

The bring back of McBride allows you to save some salary, and get a player that has been getting plenty of targets recently. In his last two games he has had 16 targets, catching 13 of them for 174 yards. This game feels like it could end up being a shootout, with the recent performances of Kyler Murray.
