Welcome to Week 12 of the 2023 season IDP Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em series. For those new to the article, know that Play or Pine will cover IDPs which might seem like an obvious start. The reason is that IDP leagues vary so much; one-time use for the season, 2 IDP starters in 10 team leagues, 11 starters in 14 team leagues, and roster requirements of various sorts throughout the world. So if one seems obvious it could be because the projections indicate this could be their best week of the season.
Week 11 was full of impressive defensive play, and the Play or Pine article hit the highest scoring IDP! There were familiar faces in the top five scorers and a couple younger guys. It was a pivotal week for several fantasy leagues, and hopefully your IDPs panned out. There are no bye weeks this week, so prepare for a full slate and roster management. For that reason this week will not be a deep dive like last week was, this week the focus is on matchups that will earn several points.

- DB Tre’Von Moehrig (LV) 15.75pts – 10 tackles
Outside of the defensive line position it was a decent outing for Week 10. AJ Epenesa had an impressive game despite the loss to the Denver Broncos. Enough about week ten though, time to look at week 11, and see where the best IDP plays are.
Start ‘Em
DeForest Bucker (IND) v TB
Buckner has 44 tackles and 5 sacks through the season. He is well on his way to another Pro bowl season, if not an All-Pro year. He is up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are weak at center and guard. This is where Buckner lines up almost all of the snaps. If you are in a DT must-start league, he may not be available, but the Colts had their bye last week and he is floating around a few leagues. Play him this week
Michael Hoecht (LAR) @ARI
Hoecht is likely available in your IDP league, and if so go get him. The Los Angeles Rams play the Arizona Cardinals this week, and M. Hoecht should be able to capitalize against a bad offensive line. The former Brown University Bear has 48 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble, and although a sack against Kyler Murray is not likely, a high tackle volume is. Trust the LA Ram to get a good score this week.
Sit ‘Em
KJ Henry (WAS) @DAL
Henry scored 22.50 points last week behind 4 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He will not have the same fortune against the Cowboys this week. KJ may see more snaps throughout the season and if in a dynasty league he is worth a roster spot if you are in need of a DL or have a DL set to retire next year.
Start ‘Em
Quincy Williams (NYJ) v MIA
Quincy not to be confused with his brother Quinnen who also plays for the Jets, is having an excellent year. He has 91 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. The New York Jets play so many defensive snaps because their offense is the worst in the league. Miami is a high-octane offense which should help Williams earn ten tackles.
Haason Reddick (PHI) v BUF
Reddick is on a roll after a slow start to the season. He has a sack in six of his last seven games and has a total of 8.5 on the season. He only has 23 tackles so the sack specialist is living up to just that. He is up against Josh Allen who although elusive, hangs on to the ball longer, and oftentimes with just one hand. This could be a sack-strip-fumble game for the former 7 year veteran. Someone on this defensive front, if not several players, will make a sack strip fumble, and H. Reddick is the most likely of candidates.
Sit ‘Em
De’Vondre Campbell (GB) @DET
Campbell is averaging over 11.5 fantasy points per game in 2023. He is reliable and likely rostered in most iDP leagues. However he suffered a neck injury and did not practice Monday, nor Tuesday. He is a force on the field but with a Thanksgiving day game against the Detroit Lions, the turnaround could be too soon to play safely and effectively. Green Bay IDP players have a juicy playoff schedule with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, and Minnesota Vikings in the fantasy playoffs, so pine him this week.
Start ‘Em
Jessie Bates (ATL) v NO
Bates is about to experience his first home game against the New Orleans Saints this week. He went through a little bit of a bad run in the midseason, but had season high numbers prior to the bye week. He plays almost every defensive snap for the Atlanta Falcons and has 73 tackles, along with 3 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles on the season. Look for Bates to make a big play in this important NFC South rivalry.
Jason Pinnock (NYG) v NE
Pinnock has really burst onto the IDP scene this year. He is a great defensive back who does not always get several tackles per game, but has 58 total on the season. He is also one of the few people to have a sack, forced fumble, and interception on the season. The New York Giants are coming off of victory and playing the New England Patriots this week. Regardless of who the QB is for the Pats, J. Pinnock has a great opportunity to add to his turnover stats. A solid tackling floor and a big play could go a long way in your league this week.
Sit ‘Em
L’Jarius Sneed (KC) @LV
Sneed had an excellent game against the EAgles last week, and is a hot waiver add this week. However, the Raiders could take a conservative approach to throwing to one of the best corners in the AFC. Jalen Hurts is an MVP talent capable of throwing a dart in a tight window. Sneed may not see that bold of a move from Aidian O’Connell. Pine the star this week.
