2023 Week 13 DraftKings Stacks

Ahead of our slate breakers article, I thought I’d write up some of my favorite DraftKings stacks for Week 13 of the 2023 season. There are a few articles you can find on why stacking is effective for DFS, so we won’t recap that here.

Instead, I’ll outline the criteria for being included:

  • Main slate only
  • Stack will include QB & 2 other players (optional bring back noted)

Stack 1 - San Fransisco (@PHI)

O/U 45.5

Spread SF +1.5 (SF implied 22 Pts)

QB Brock Purdy ($6,100)
RB Christian McCaffrey ($9,000)
WR Deebo Samuel ($6,200)

Total $21,300

Optional bring-back Dallas Goedert (PHI) +$4,800

This is the blockbuster game on the slate, and it’s always nice to have something in it. Purdy has been fine this season for fantasy, with some 3 games of 300+ yards and 5 games with multiple passing TDs. Against this Eagles secondary, he should be able to find his playmakers consistently. One of those is the pricy CMC. I think with the matchup and pricetag here his ownership could be lower than it has been this season. And truly, with his varied usage, he is as close as you can get to being matchup-proof. The second part is a little harder to work out. I would have liked to grab Brandon Aiyuk ($7,200) but with the cost here already, it’s hard to justify it. Instead I’ll move to Samuel who saw a chunk of work last week against the Seahawks. Has been streaky in this usage, but against this secondary he has a good opportunity to have a big game.

The bring-back is tough to find, simply because alot of the Eagles pieces are priced up on this slate, and you’ve spent up already. So, unless you are comfortable with a bunch of near min-price plays on the slate, you have to look at other options. There have been reports that Goedert has been working for a return in this game, and he has a decent chance of getting some checkdowns here. Honorable mention (of roll of the dice) for the WR3s in the Eagles offense Julio Jones ($3,100)Olamide Zaccheaus ($3,000)

Stack 2 - Detroit Lions (v NO)

O/U 44.5

Spread DET-3 (DET implied 24 Pts)

QB Jared Goff ($6,500)
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown ($8,500)
RB Jahmyr Gibbs ($6,700)

Total $21,700

Optional bring-back Juwan Johnson (NO) +$3,400

The Lions didn’t keep their recent momentum going in the Thanksgiving game against the Packers, but have a good opportunity here to get back on track. The Lions, and Jared Goff in particular, are much more effective playing at home. In this six home games this season, Goff has four games with multiple TDs and two games with 300+ yards. His main weapon is St. Brown who has 109 targets this season. Has such a safe floor with DK’s PPR scoring, and has upside with his yardage totals hitting the bonus marker and TDs scored. The third piece (Gibbs) is trying to get a part of the Lions effective ground game. Gibbs has been used as an effective carrier this season, with five games with double-digit carries, but he also gets a massive target share in the offense. I don’t mind pivoting to Sam LaPorta ($5,600) who has a healthy target share too for what it’s worth, but you’ll need to think about your build with your bring-back.

The bring back of Johnson is trying to get some cheap targets. Johnson had 7 targets last week against the Falcons, and has averaged 4 per game. With his size, he has a nice role in the offense. But, it’s not without risk. If you opted for LaPorta instead of Gibbs, I think you could instead pay up for Chris Olave ($6,900). But again, you need to be comfortable saving some salary on some other plays on the slate.

Stack 3 - Houston Texans (@DEN)

O/U 43.5

Spread HOU -2.5 (HOU implied 23 Pts)

QB C.J. Stroud ($8,100)
RB Devin Singletary ($5,900)
WR Tank Dell/ Nico Collins ($7,400/ $6,800)

Total $21,400/ $20,800

Optional bring-back Courtland Sutton (DEN) +$5,400

The Texans and Broncos game is one that I am actually kind of excited to see how it pans out. The Texans offense has been cooked with Stroud leading it, and the Broncos have been hot, winning their last five games. Stroud has been great in recent weeks too, with each of his last four games throwing for over 300+ yards and three games with multiple TDs thrown. The Texans backfield has some stability it seems with Singletary taking the lead-role in the backfield. The Broncos defense is the worst at defending the position, so even if Dameon Pierce ($5,100) is involved, Singletary can still hit value. The question will be which of his receivers hits value better. Collins and Dell have similar receiving box scores on the season, the main difference being that Collins has nearly 100 yards more than Dell, and Dell has scored two more TDs. The difference is that Dell has really hit a purple streak, with 2 of his last four games having over 100+ yards, and scoring 5 TDs in that time. To start the season though, there were games where he finished with a few catches for less than 40 yards. Collins has been more consistent week to week, but hasn’t hit the same highs as Dell. Pick your poison.

The bring-back of Sutton gives you the leading target for the Broncos and a player that has caught 8 of the teams 20 receiving TDs this season. I’d give an honorable mention to Javonte Williams ($5,700) with the volume of touches that he gets in the offense. The Texans
