Moving onto Week 14 of the 2023 season, and we are going to give you some DraftKings bargain bin plays for the week. These are plays that are on the ultra-value/ GPP contrarian side. So generally avoid these plays in cash game lineups, but in GPPs- especially big fields go for it!
You can find all of our DFS content here, and be ready for the week.
Jake Browning v IND ($5,200)
Let’s start the week 14 Bargains column by playing a game of Guess Who (or simply Guess The Quarterback just in case anyone at Hasbro is reading this and attempts to sue me for trademark infringement). Ok, here we go…Is this player a quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals; yes! Does this player have a passer rating over 100 on the season; he sure does! Did he just put up over 350 yards passing on the Jacksonville Jags defense on Monday Night Football in a 34-31 overtime victory; he did indeed! Are his initials J.B.; why yes, they are! Ok, this is easy; it‘s Joe Burrow right…wrong! There’s a new J.B. at the helm for the Bengals and just like his initial twin and team mate Joey B has done so many times, Jake Browning put on a show under the lights in Prime Time this past Monday. Browning’s 354 passing yards were the 2nd highest allowed by Jacksonville all year, with only Josh Allen’s 359 yard effort back in week 5 eclipsing the UDFA out of Washington. Let’s not get carried away though, this was only Browning’s 2nd ever NFL start but fantasy managers should be buoyed by the performance as the Bengals host the 7-5 Indianapolis Colts. The Bengals at 6-6 are very much in the playoff picture after Pittsburgh’s loss to New England on TNF and against a Colts defense that allowed Will Levis to pass on them for 224 and a score, J.B. may be a great value start at $5200.
Joe Flacco v JAX ($4,700)
In his first start since January, Joe Flacco gave us the most Joe Flacco performance imaginable as the 38-year old veteran posted a modest 254 yard passing performance for 2 touchdowns and an interception. At 7-5 and 2 games back on the Ravens in the AFC North, the Browns only hope of post-season football is via a Wildcard spot; and starting Joe Flacco at QB is their best shot at doing just that. Cleveland welcomes Jacksonville to the Dawg Pound this weekend, the very defense that we’ve just discussed Jake Browning carving up for over 350 yards. Flacco has reverted back to the practise squad for now, but with DRT still yet to clear concussion protocol, the former Raven looks a safe bet to get his 2nd start in a Browns uniform on Sunday. Jacksonville are very generous to opposing QBs so there’s hope Flacco can give you great value for your $4700 outlay.
