2024 IDP Waiver Wire – Week 5

The 2024 season is underway, and we have Week 5 just around the corner- so let’s check out some IDP Waiver Wire options. Ownership has been taken from MFL- they list ownership of %’s across all leagues. From research, looks like around 20% of their leagues have some form of IDP in them. Therefore, the ownership used for this article is 7% (as that should be just under half owned in leagues). Hope it helps!

2024 IDP Waiver Wire – Week 5 DT

  • A’Shawn Robinson (CAR) is owned in just under 6% of leagues, and depending on where you play, he might be listed as a DE. As a DT, he has great stats. On the field for 73% of the snaps, with 14 solo tackles and 5 assists, and also has been getting to the QB too, with 7 hurries.
  • Rakeem Nunez-Roches (NYG) has been included in each of the past two weeks, but still has less than 2% ownership. Has good tackle numbers, and puts pressure on the backfield. In deeper leagues, he is worth picking up.

2024 IDP Waiver Wire – Week 5 DE

  • Dorance Armstrong (WAS) has started the season well, with 61% of the team snaps played. He doesn’t have great tackle numbers, but his pass-rushing ability is clear- with 5 hurries, 4 hits and 3 sacks. Nice piece to grab if you need some depth.
  • Tyquan Lewis (IND) has been another player that has been on this list for the past few weeks, but has been getting more attention recently (and his ownership has increased too). Lewis has been on the field for 66% of the team snaps, with good tackle numbers and pass-rushing ability.

2024 IDP Waiver Wire – Week 5 LB

  • Troy Reeder (LAR) this might be the last time that Reeder can be mentioned here, as he has consistently seen his ownership rise and is just under 7% now. Has been on the field for every snap for the Rams this season, with 23 solo and 10 assisted tackles. With 1 TFL, and another pass defended, this is going to be the last time that you can grab him. If you need a fill-in for a bye week, now is the time.
  • Jamien Sherwood (NYJ) was here last week (and the one before), and stays here for another week. Owned in 4.6% of leagues, he has seen more work with C.J. Mosley‘s injury. He has 18 solo tackles, and 7 assisted tackles along with two TFLs. If Mosley continues to struggle to be healthy, Sherwood should see more work. Decent waiver wire pickup.

  • Alex Singleton (DEN) 6.5% rostered. Yes I know, he is done for the year, but if your are in a dynasty league and your can grab him, he is worth stashing on your bench for next year (I’m assuming there aren’t IR spots or he would still be owned).
  • Raekwon McMillan (NE) 3.6% rostered

2024 IDP Waiver Wire – Week 5 CB

  • Christian Izien (TB) has seen his role grow in the Tampa Bay secondary. Depending on where you play, he might be listed as a safety, and that is where he has been getting the vast majority of his snaps. Has 18 tackles, and another 3 assisted with 1 hurry and a single INT.
  • Jaylon Jones (IND) is listed as a CB, and has been lining up there for the majority of his snaps, but has been getting some work in the box too. Has great tackle numbers with 23 solo and 4 assisted tackles to go along with 2 TFLs, 2 INTs and 2 PDs. All of that, with less than 2% ownership!? Grab him now

2024 IDP Waiver Wire – Week 5 S

  • DeShon Elliott (PIT) is a massively versatile player, has played 90% of the Steelers snaps this season, and has seen those snaps split across the slot, box and at the traditional ‘safety’ position. As a result, he has managed to have 17 solo and 12 assisted tackles to go along with 1 TFL, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 INT and a single PD. Has only just under 7% ownership though, so might not be available in your league.
  • Brandon Jones (DEN) was featured last week too, and has been on the field for 94% of the snaps for Denver, with 16 solo tackles to go along with 6 assisted tackles. Has an INT and a fumble recover too, with varied usage with some slot and box lineup slots. Just under 7% ownership at the moment, a decent bump from last week.
