It’s finally here- Week 4 of the 2024 season, and another DraftKings main slate. We are back offering you DFS advice to try and help you navigate your way to victories throughout the season. The players selected here are based on their price, their ability to hit value and likely ownership. The selections are leaning more towards GPP slates, rather than cash (50/50) slates. But let’s get into it
Kyler Murray v WAS ($6,800)
Arizona’s pint-sized point machine took a tumble back down to earth last week in the Cardinals’ 20-13 defeat at home to the Lions. Detroit held Murray to a 62% completion rate (his worst on the season so far) – with Kyler going 21-of-34 for 207-yards and a touchdown. Not helping his stat line was the interception Murray threw on the opening drive of the 2nd half when targeting Marvin Harrison Jr. in the end zone. Kyler’s QB17 finish may see a number of fantasy managers fade on him for Arizona’s week 4 home tilt against the Commanders – so be sure to take advantage of his low roster percentage against the worst passing defense in the league. Washington is surrendering almost 29 fantasy points to opposing QBs so far this year…add in Kyler’s abilities on the ground and he could easily finish as the QB1 on the week for the second time this season.
Sam Darnold @GB ($5,700)
Hold onto your hats with this one. After back-to-back top-10 finishes at the position, fantasy managers have been left scratching their heads and asking themselves: “is Sam Darnold actually good?”. The jury is still out for me, but what I am certain about is the former No.3 overall pick’s ability to put up fantasy points – especially with the news that Jordan Addison looks set to return from the ankle injury that has forced him out of the Vikings’ last two contests. Through three weeks, Darnold leads the NFL in touchdowns with 8 – 4 of those coming in Minnesota’s 34-7 demolition of C.J. Stroud and the Texans in Minneapolis last weekend. This Vikings offense looks efficient through the air and on the ground, with Aaron Jones rushing at 5.4 Y/A on the year. The O/U at Lambeau is 43.5 – expect that to jump up if Jordan Love makes his return for Green Bay. At only $5700, Darnold represents excellent value at the position.
Also consider: Joe Burrow @CAR ($6,600) & Jayden Daniels @AZ ($6,400)
Kyren Williams @CHI ($7,300)
In the absence of Puca Nacua and Cooper Kupp, the Rams were always going to lean heavily on the run game, in particular Kyren Williams – and against the 49ers in Sunday night’s 27-24 win, Los Angeles did just that. Williams ran the ball 24 times, adding on a further 2 receptions on 2 targets from Matt Stafford. Whilst the efficiency may not have been there (his 3.7 Y/A ranked 41st on the week), it almost doesn’t matter with the sheer volume the 24-year old rusher was seeing. Kyren’s 24 carries were the 3rd most on the week behind Alvin Kamara (26) and Derrick Henry (25) – and putting into context just how much of the Rams offense he was…his 24 attempts on the ground was only one shy of Matt Stafford’s total passing attempts. I’m not expecting Williams to put up another 3 touchdown week, but with the Rams’ receiving corps still razor thin, Kyren will remain the focal point of the attack for the trip to Soldier Field.
Zack Moss @CAR ($5,900)
At only $5900, Zack Moss may be the most underpriced running back on the slate this weekend. His price-tag sees him sit as the 19th most expensive back for the Bengals trip to Carolina, a defense that gave up almost 400 yards rushing in their opening two matchups against the Saints and Chargers. It’s a simple equation this weekend…Cincinnati needs to win. At 0-3, a loss against the Panthers, followed by a home matchup versus the Ravens, could spell an 0-5 start to the season and the end of any playoff hopes before the clocks go back. Moss’ 4.1 Y/A on the year ranks T41st at the position…not earth shattering by any means, but his involvement in the passing game gives him an elevated weekly floor, particularly in PPR formats. He’s the RB15 in receiving yards, and expect Joe Burrow to look Moss’ way plenty in Charlotte on Sunday. The Bengals are 4.5 point road favourites, a game script that should give Moss plenty of opportunities on the ground and through the air.
Carson Steele @LAC ($5,500)
If Moss isn’t the most underpriced rusher on the Sunday slate, then Kansas City’s full-back turned full-time back Carson Steele certainly is. With the undisputed leader of the RB room Isiah Pacheco looking increasingly unlikely to return this season, there’s a full cast of characters lining up for the Chiefs to take his place. The truth is, this is likely to be a committee for the rest of the year – but as it stands, Steele is the leading man for the resigning back-to-back Super Bowl champs – tallying 72-yards on 17 carries against the Falcons last weekend. Kareem Hunt, yes 29-year old former Cleveland Brown Kareem Hunt, has been elevated from the practise squad – and of course Samaje Perine will still be on hand for 3rd down duties. Hunt will be given a chance to prove he still has legs – but I am continuing to back Steele as the most valuable fantasy option in this backfield. He offers a solid floor with TD upside.

Marvin Harrison Jr. v WAS ($7,500)
Remember earlier I mentioned Washington are the worst passing defense in the league? Then it should come as no shock that off the back off recommending Kyler Murray, that his #1 wide receiver also makes the cut this week as he’ll look to find the end zone for the third game in-a-row. Harrison continued to show why he was drafted by the Cardinals with the 4th overall pick – leading the team once again in receptions and yards in Arizona’s defeat to Detroit. MHJ was targeted 11 times by Kyler Murrray, hauling in 5 of his looks for 64-yards and a touchdown – and alongside tight end Trey McBride, the rookie is one of Kyler’s top-2 weapons in the passing game. Against the Commanders Harrison could see an even more commanding share of targets, with McBride (the current TE5 on the year) looking increasingly unlikely to suit up due to being in the League’s concussion protocol. All signs point to MHJ having another monster game – stack him with Murray for a near limitless ceiling.
Nico Collins v JAX ($7,200)
It’s been far from convincing for the Houston Texans so far this season. Despite sitting atop the AFC South with a 2-1 record, something just isn’t clicking for the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud and his charges. Following one score victories over Indianapolis and Chicago, Houston were routed 34-7 in Minnesota, with sophomore QB Stroud tossing two costly interceptions – both of which ultimately resulted in Vikings’ touchdowns on each of the following drives. One cog in the Texans machine which appears to be ticking along just fine however, is fourth-year receiver Nico Collins. The 25-year old has picked up right where he left off last season, and currently sits as the overall WR6 through three games – leading the league with 338 receiving yards, and is the only man to average triple-figures through the air each week. Nico now gets to feast on the porous Jacksonville pass defense who were carved open by Josh Allen last Monday to the tune of four first-half touchdowns. Tank Dell looks set to miss this one with a chest injury – if so, Nico should see even more looks from C.J. Stroud – he’s a top-3 WR in the NFL this weekend.
Diontae Johnson v CIN ($5,600)
Johnson was added to the Panthers injury report late on Thursday – be sure to check his status before kick off on Sunday
Who would have thought it would have only taken a competent passing quarterback to make Diontae Johnson fantasy relevant again? With the Bryce Young experiment over (for now) in Carolina, the team looks set to move forward on the season with the Red Rifle, Andy Dalton under center. Dalton lit up the league in his first start since week 3 of last season (a game where he also passed for over 300-yards and had multiple touchdowns), completing 70% of his passes for 319-yards and 3 touchdowns. Diontae Johnson accounted for a significant chunk of Dalton’s production, hauling in 8-of-14 targets for 122-yards and a score on his way to a WR4 finish on the week. Adam Thielen tweaked his hamstring in the victory over the Raiders last weekend and was placed on IR – this is the Dalton and Johnson show for the foreseeable future – he’s a steal at only $5600.
Also consider: D.J. Moore v LAR ($6,700), Brandon Aiyuk v NE ($6,400) & George Pickens @IND ($5,700)
Dallas Goedert @TB ($5,400)
It’s not every week you get the chance to roster the TE1 in all of fantasy for the cut-price of only $5400…but this has been far from an ordinary season when it comes to the tight end position. Dallas Goedert rolled back the years in the Eagles’ narrow victory down at the Superdome last Sunday, as Philadelphia held off New Orleans 15-12, to move to 1st in the NFC East. With A.J. Brown missing due to a hamstring injury, Goedert was in line for a more productive fantasy day, but it was when DeVonta Smith left the game after suffering a concussion (from an incredibly dirty hit I’ll add) that the 7th-year tight end went nuclear. Goedert finished the day with 10 receptions for a career high 170-yards. Brown and Smith both look set to sit for Philly’s trip to Tampa Bay on Sunday, so expect the big tight end to have another very productive afternoon in the Florida sunshine.
Kyle Pitts v NO ($4,800)
Oh this one always feels dangerous. Kyle Pitts is not a player I enjoy rostering, nor is he a guy I truthfully enjoy watching on a football field. That’s not down to his lack of talent – he’s arguably one of, if not the most gifted tight end in the league – but rather how he has been utilised ever since his rookie season by the coaching staff in Atlanta. New season, (another) new Head Coach…old Kyle Pitts? The former Florida Gator sits as the TE10 on the year so far, but with Kirk Cousins under center for the Falcons, there is renewed hope surrounding Pitts’ potential as a weekly fantasy starter at the tight end position. Has he set the world on fire in 2024, no…but who at the position has? The Saints are allowing over 70-yards to opposing TEs so far this year – look for Pitts to have a healthy outing on Sunday, especially if he can find the end zone.
Also consider: Cole Kmet v LAR ($4,400) & Pat Freiermuth @IND ($3,900)
Pittsburgh Steelers @IND ($3,300)
At 3-0, allowing a league leading 8.7 points per game, and having arguably the best player in the NFL in their ranks…are the Steelers legitimate Super Bowl contenders? Time will tell, but what we already know is that this defensive unit is elite. Sure, it can be argued that Pittsburgh are yet to face any top-level offensive units in their opening three games – but this is DFS and we are only concerned with what’s in front of us today…and that is the turnover machine that is Anthony Richardson and his Indianapolis Colts. A-Rich has tossed a league worst 6 interceptions over the first three weeks of the season, and was completely stymied by the Bears last time out – finishing the day with only 167 scoreless yards. If T.J. Watt can get to A-Rich early, this could be a big day for this Steelers DST.
Las Vegas Raiders v CLE ($3,200)
DeShaun Watson is slowly but surely starting to shake off the rust as he integrates back into this Cleveland offense, but despite going back-to-back weeks without a pick, he continues to be underwhelming in a somewhat toothless Browns attack which ranks 25th in total points scored. The real issue behind Watson’s lacklustre performances lie with the Browns’ incredibly fragile O-line, which has allowed their franchise QB to be sacked a league-worst 16 times…including 8 last week against the Giants. The Raiders are not a strong defensive unit by any stretch of the imagination and may be without Maxx Crosby for the visit of the men from Ohio – but even without Crosby, it could still be a very healthy day for this DST and are a worthwhile investment at only $3200.
