We’ve now had six weeks of the 2024 NFL season and it’s time for another look at some Sophomore Buys & Sells ahead of Week 7.
Week 7 Buy/Sell
Buy Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Everyone is aware that Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a relative disappointment in 2023 but perhaps not everyone knows that things are looking better this season. JSN is the clear WR2 on the offense now having overtaken Tyler Lockett and with the Seahawks leading the league in pass attempts, he’s inside the top ten target earners in the NFL.
His 49 targets have translated to only a WR37 ranking in PPR points per game, meaning there’s a good chance his owners have become frustrated and are happy to sell. According to KeepTradeCut he’s now the Dynasty WR24, valued somewhere between a mid and late 2025 1st. If I know I’m a contender then I’d be more than happy paying a 1st for him if I’m looking for some late season Wide Receiver production.
Sell Will Levis
If it feels like we’ve been here before, it’s because we have! Prior to Week 2 I had Bryce Young listed as a sell in this very article. I certainly wasn’t alone then and I won’t be alone now. But just a week later Young was benched for Andy Dalton, tanking any potential trade value and it’s heading in the same direction for Levis. It might be difficult to get anything like a positive return on investment for him seeing as he was probably a 1st round rookie pick in your league. But this is very much a case of getting what you can before it’s too late.
Levis currently averages 9.1 fantasy points per game (he did leave one game early), which leaves him at the QB35 on the season. But the bigger issue is that he’s already committed 10 turnovers, three more than anyone else in the league. It’s the mindless plays leading to those turnovers that is going to lead to him being benched by a Titans regime that weren’t responsible for drafting him in 2023. At this stage I’d strongly consider selling him for a solid 2025 2nd round pick before he’s barely worth a 3rd.
