More fantasy impact news out of Green Bay, with Davante Adams being traded to Las Vegas. The AFC West is really going for it in this free agency, with every team looking to make moves to improve their rosters in a big way. This is a massive move that changes the outlook of both of those teams, especially for fantasy.
Impact on Raiders
The Raiders adding a top receiver in Adams means that Darren Waller will take a slight dip in targets. But, with the TE landscape being what it is, Waller will still be one of the better fantasy TEs in the league. His efficiency should mean that he is
Instead, it’s Hunter Renfrow that is likely to be hit by this trade. The receiver was fantastic last season, leading the team in targets, receptions, yards and receiving TDs. But that was inflated to some degree with the games that Waller missed with injury. With Adams and Waller likely to really command a massive target share. With Josh Jacobs to consider too, Renfrow is going to fall to a mid-level WR4 unless there is another injury ahead of him.
As a result of this trade, Carr is going to be a sneaky option at QB for drafts this year, and a good target for a trade in dynasty.
Impact on Packers
Well. Aaron Rodgers is returning, but currently his best receiver is Aaron Jones. The team have also brought back Allen Lazard on a tender, but really there is no one on this roster that can step up here. So how do they find someone to step up? There are quite a few exciting prospects in the upcoming draft, and now the Packers have an extra first and second from the trade. And really, that’s the route that looks more likely. With a number of moves recently, there aren’t alot of reliable options out there as free agents.
You’ve got Jarvis Landry, Julio Jones, A.J. Green who have all been allowed to leave the teams they were playing for last year, and although out of the bunch I’d go with Jones, it’s not exactly a massively exciting list.
For Rodgers himself, that owner that felt good with him confirming he was returning to the team, doesn’t feel great now.
The Davante Adams Las Vegas trade has really shaken the AFC and NFC landscape, another were the fantasy impact will be felt for the whole offseason with stories from training camp.
