Week 16 Sunday Selections: Quarterbacks
Drew Brees ($6,900) comes into Week 16 on a tear, personally breaking some records but also lighting up lineups. Brees has recorded scores of 31.3 and 43.1 points in his last two games, and now faces Tennessee who has struggled at stopping the ball moving through the air this season.
Drew Lock ($5,600) has been a bit hit-or-miss since taking the reigns of the offense. However, he now has the easiest matchup of his career against Detroit. If you don’t want to spend up on Brees, then Lock will allow you to spend up elsewhere, while still having an effective floor.
Week 16 Sunday Selections: Running Backs
Joe Mixon ($6,600) finally seems to have demonstrated the ability he has on offense. Mixon now faces Miami this week, who have allowed the most rushing yards in the league and who made the New York Giants look effective last week. At his price in this matchup, he is a great selection this week.
Melvin Gordon ($5,600) struggled with ball security last week, meaning that he is likely going to be avoided by the masses this week. However, he still is a major part of the Los Angeles offense and should get plenty of opportunities this week. At this price, and likely ownership he is a fantastic option.
DeAndre Washington ($4,000) is likely to get the majority of the touches in the Oakland backfield, with Josh Jacobs set to miss the game. Washington blew up when he was given the starting role against Tennessee, rushing the ball for 53 yards and a touchdown while catching six catches for 43 yards. Against Los Angeles this week with that workload at this price, you can grab some great options elsewhere on the slate.
Week 16 Sunday Selections: Wide Receivers
Michael Thomas ($9,300) just HAS to be in your lineup this week. Thomas has been the most consistent receiver in the league this season, catching 133 passes from a league-high 159 targets this season. Tennessee was just ripped apart by DeAndre Hopkins, expect a similar performance this week from Thomas.
Courtland Sutton ($6,200) is the number one receiver for Denver now, with 107 targets this season. With the easiest matchup of Lock’s career against Detroit, who rank 31st in the NFL in receiving yards given up, this is a great option for owners this week.
Christian Kirk ($5,600) feels like a permanent addition to this column, but for a fantastic reason. Regardless of the matchup, Kirk has been given targets for Arizona. Making him a great floor option for your third receiving spot.
Mike Williams ($5,000) just keeps staying at this price point, and so needs to be in consideration each week. Against Oakland, who has struggled against receivers Williams should continue to be a deep threat, who gets usage in the red-zone. As a boom-or-bust option, they don’t really come much better.
Week 16 Sunday Selections: Tight Ends
Austin Hooper ($4,400) was having a great breakout season before he suffered an injury in Week 10. Since then he has struggled to regain that form, which has lowered his salary. Against Jacksonville, who have struggled on defense this season, Hooper has a great opportunity to try to right the ship.
Jacob Hollister ($4,200) faces Arizona on an offense that has used its tight ends in the red zone this season. At a position where touchdown upside is key- there are worse options for owners this week.
Week 16 Sunday Selections: Defense & Special Teams
Baltimore ($4,000) faces Cleveland who has struggled all season on offense. Baltimore might not have the big-name players on defense that they used to, but they are still a great unit. They are the highest priced DST on the slate, so I can understand avoiding them- but I’m willing to pay up for them this week.

Denver ($3,500) hasn’t had the best of seasons with coach Vic Fangio at the helm, but now face a injury-plagued Detriot team at home. With the inexperienced David Blough at the helm, Denver are likely to be pressurizing the quarterback into some mistakes this week.
