DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Las Vegas @Kansas City

We are here to cover the 2022 DraftKings showdown slate for Monday Night Football Week 5, Las Vegas @Kansas City. This should be a nice offensive showing, as both QBs have receiving weapons and the defenses have shown they can give up big plays.

DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Las Vegas @Kansas City Captain Picks

Patrick Mahomes ($18,000 Capt/ $12,000 Flex)

Mahomes has a huge ceiling every week he is on the slate, such is his ability to make plays. I would say normally I don’t like having QBs in as my CPT, because it’s hard for them to really lead the slate in scoring. There are a few exceptions though, and Mahomes is one of them. For the price tag you’d like more rushing upside, but he is a constant threat at the 300-yard bonus through the air.

Travis Kelce ($16,200 Capt/ $10,800 Flex)

Kelce feels like the CPT choice for me on this slate. He is the primary receiver on the Chiefs offense, and has a huge opportunity to get the 100-yard bonus, which 9 receptions for 92 yards last time out. If Kelce were to score too, he would break the slate wide open.

Josh Jacobs ($13,200 Capt/ $8,800 Flex)

Jacobs maybe seems like he is ready to take the step forward that was previously hoped for. The RB has little competition for touches or snaps, and now he is starting to get involved in the passing game, which is great for DK’s scoring. With the way you can run on the Chiefs, Jacobs is a nice sneaky CPT selection here.

DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Las Vegas @Kansas City Flex Picks

Davante Adams ($11,400 Flex)

Adams is the leading receiver for the Raiders, getting double digit targets every game. The issue is that Derek Carr isn’t Aaron Rodgers. You can’t take too much of him in this because of the price tag, but you kinda have to spot him in lineups as he has that top-tier ability to take a game on.

Derek Carr ($10,200 Flex)

Carr has had a solid but unspectacular season. The price in this one is decent for a QB that is likely to have to air it out for the majority of the game. Carr looks after the ball well, and has good receiving weapons. I mean if he isn’t throwing it, then Jacobs smashes because the team are controlling a lead.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($7,400 Flex)

CEH is currently the number on ‘RB’ for the Chiefs, primarily working as a receiver. The issue is that he is splitting carries with Isiah Pacheco. The fact is that CEH seems to be the player that the team now seem to trust CEH through the air and near the goal-line.

Darren Waller ($7,200 Flex)

C’mon there HAS to be a game where it clicks for Waller. Could this be the one? He is getting targets, red zone opportunities it just isn’t coming together. The price gives you a decent upside option for the Raiders, and one of their leading receivers. In his previous games against the Chiefs, he has had some boom games.

Juju Smith-Schuster ($6,600 Flex)

Smith-Schuster is a cheaper option, who is a consideration for CPT on the slate. He is seeing a good number of targets, which helps on DK’s PPR scoring. The issue is he doesn’t have solid upside- he doesn’t get enough scoring opportunities. Almost feels like the most ideal flex play.

Mack Hollins ($5,000 Flex)

I feel like the field is going to move off Hollins on the slate, as Hunter Renfrow is set to return to the lineup. After missing some time though, I can’t see that Renfrow is just going to step straight into a massive amount of snaps in this one. Hollins has a good rapport with Carr this season, and has shown his ability to make plays.

Isiah Pacheco ($4,800 Flex)

Pacheco looked decent against Tampa Bay’s tough running defense. Pacheco isn’t being used in the passing game, which massively hurts his floor, but he is getting a chunk of the rush attempts in the offense. Against the poor Raiders front 7, he has every opportunity to perform here.

DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Las Vegas @Kansas City Kickers and DSTs

I’m hoping that neither defense really becomes worth anything in this one- I want to see some offense! The Chiefs DST ($4,200) is solid and should be able to get a few sacks in this one, but the Raiders don’t turn the ball over all that much, which limits their viability. The Raiders ($3,200) are a specialist play on the slate, in that no one is going to do it. The Chiefs offense is top-level but they have suffered with turnovers. I’m not having a lot of lineups with the Raiders, but I’ll have one in the hope they can make a big play for a TD.

The kickers are in play on this one, given the expected score and ability of the offenses. Matthew Wright ($4,000) was accurate last week, with all PATs and FGs converted. The issue is that the Chiefs aren’t going to need to lie on him very often. I’ll mix Wright with the Raiders DST lineup as I mentioned above. Where I am very interested though is Daniel Carlson ($3,800) the Raiders offense has been good enough to move the ball downfield, but hasn’t managed to convert consistently. Carlson should have plenty of opportunities, and has the ability to convert from deep.
