DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Los Angeles @Green Bay

We are here to cover the 2022 DraftKings showdown slate for Monday Night Football Week 15, Los Angeles @Green Bay. This one is set to be a slow, low-scoring affair, with an O/U set at 40 points. The Packers are favored by around a TD. With a cold night game in Lambeau, this game has lost some of it’s offensive appeal with the injuries for the Rams. My strategy for the slate is to aim for upside here, with alot of the slate not having too much of a floor here (including the kickers) and probably enter more lineups than I would normally to account for the variance.

DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Los Angeles @Green Bay Captain Picks

Aaron Jones ($16,800 Capt/ $11,200 Flex)

Jones is the obvious CPT choice on the slate. Get plenty of touches on the ground, and second on the team in targets giving him a solid floor. His ceiling comes from his ability to score multiple TDs, and do so with some level of reliability. Putting him in though will require you to make some concessions further down the line with his cost.

Christian Watson ($13,200 Capt/ $8,800 Flex)

Watson is really a player to stay in the fire with. He is on a ridiculous scoring run, scoring 7 TDs in his last four games. The return of Romeo Doubs in the offense could hurt him, but Rodgers has been singing his praises, so I’m going to put him in as a CPT and not question it too much.

Allen Lazard ($11,400 Capt/ $7,600 Flex)

Lazard leads the team on targets for the season, but they are really up and down. With his size and speed I can’t see why he isn’t given the ball more consistently. With his big body, he should be used more in the redzone. With Watson and Doubs now returning, I’m happy to put Lazard in as a CPT on the assumption teams try to deal with their speed instead of him. That should mean that Lazard can operate with a bit more space against this struggling Rams defense.

AJ Dillon ($9,300 Capt/ $6,200 Flex)

Dillon as a CPT option is all to do with the price. There is a big gap between him and Jones, and there really hasn’t been a whole lot to choose between the two of them this season in terms of touches. There is risk on this selection, as he could get single-figure points here. But, if he has turned a corner after this performances immediately before the bye week, he could smash and give you plenty of salary to use elsewhere.

DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Los Angeles @Green Bay Flex Picks

Aaron Rodgers ($10,800 Flex)

I don’t like putting QBs in the CPT spot, but was tempted to do it with Rodgers. He has the ability to run the ball into the endzone, and I wouldn’t need to work out which receiver was going to pop. But the price difference between him and his receivers is large. I’d rather put Rodgers in as a flex with a receiver as CPT overall to increase my upside.

Baker Mayfield ($10,000 Flex)

Mayfield performed well last time out, pulling out an unlikely victory. Not sure he is going to repeat that here against this defense. Probably not likely to really have a good enough performance to warrant inclusion in lineups on the whole, but worth mixing in rarely if you are playing multiple entries.

Cam Akers ($8,200 Flex)

It’s been a wild ride for Akers. Started the season as the clear starter, seemingly thrown into the wilderness mid-season, now back as the starter. Could have a good game here too if the Rams choose to feed Akers instead of trying to air the ball out. The Packers have long struggled to defend the run- even if they know it’s coming. The risk that the Rams rotate backs push Akers out of CPT consideration for me.

Van Jefferson ($6,800 Flex)

Jefferson has been struggling to ascert himself as the primary target in the offense since Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson were forced out due to injury. He has been long used as a deep-threat, so doesn’t really need too many targets to convert to hit value here. At some point this offense will get him involved more. An upside flex play at the price.

Romeo Doubs ($6,800 Flex)

Doubs returning here is interesting. Before missing time with injury he was smashing it through the air for the Packers, but during those 4 weeks the team has seen other pieces step up. I want to have some exposure to him, given his ability to put up numbers. He could even exist with Watson with the big-play ability of both. Could dud as he tries to work the rust off though. Nice leverage play with plenty of upside on the slate.

Tyler Higbee ($6,400 Flex)

Higbee has been getting a decent number of targets in the offense. The issue is that this Rams offense is really not the strong unit it used to be with the number of injuries it has suffered. Without Matthew Stafford throwing the ball though, he has really struggled now to get targets. With not too much of a floor, and a capped ceiling on the offense I’ll stay away.

Kyren Williams ($5,800 Flex)

Williams is an interesting play at the price with how the Rams backfield has worked recently. Akers is currently the starter, but he hasn’t really been performing behind the Rams poor offensive line. At some point the Rams have to accept that they need to give Williams some volume to see what they have in him. There is next to no floor here, but he has nice upside here if McVay gives Williams the ball. If he falls in the end zone, a great play.

Randall Cobb ($5,600 Flex)

Cobb could find himself the odd man out now with the return of Doubs to the field. When Cobb was able to be a starter in the offense, he has worked as an effective slot receiver, and I’d be all over him here. I’ll still have some shares, but you can’t really put Doubs and Cobb in the same lineup. It caps both players’ upsides.

Robert Tonyan ($5,400 Flex)

Tonyan is getting out on the field, but he isn’t getting nearly any looks in this offense. In the last three weeks he has totalled nine targets. Now, he wasn’t ever really a high-target play, but with just one TD on the season too, there is really next to nothing of value here. If you are taking a punt on the Packers offense there are better options. If you just want a GPP flyer there are better options(that are cheaper) too.

Ben Skowronek ($5,200 Flex)

Skowronek is going to be a popular play on this slate with his price and involvement in the offense last week. He was on the field for every offensive snap, and finished the game with 7 receptions for 89 yards. Easily the best game of his career. But against a tough secondary, on the road, I’m not going to go crazy with having him in my pool of players on the slate.

Tutu Atwell ($4,400 Flex)

Atwell is similar to a number of the Packers receivers, in that he doesn’t really need to have that many receptions to hit value, with his ability to get downfield. A nice cheap option on the slate with upside. I have him in a number of my lineups for this slate.

Brandon Powell ($2,200 Flex)

If you want a (decent) roll of the dice, then for me it’s Powell. He is used in a number of different ways in the offense, including rushing the ball. There isn’t really much of a floor here, but with how he is used in the offense and his kick/ punt returning he could break a random TD.

DraftKings MNF Showdown 2022 – Los Angeles @Green Bay Kickers and DSTs

The kickers on this slate are interesting, but I’m not overly sold for different reasons. Mason Crosby ($4,200) has been solid on the season, but really isn’t getting the FG attempts to be a decent option here. The Packers offense should be able to get some scores against this Rams’ defense, limiting Crosby to PATs here. Matt Gay ($4,000) is the player that has the wider range of outcomes here. He is a good kicker, but he might not get the opportunity on this offense. Kicking outside in Lambeau in the cold, combined with that volatility, isn’t a place I want to really look to have too much of.

The Packers DST ($5,000) is very much in play here. The Rams’ offensive line has just been horrible, which has led to sacks and turnovers consistently being given up. With Baker Mayfield, who has struggled with decision-making, and a bunch of depth receivers, I don’t even mind the Packers DST as a long-shot CPT play. The Rams DST ($3,400) has been decent, but they are still going to be without their star piece, Aaron Donald. You can’t discount them completely as they could take a turnover to the house, as we saw plenty of times this weekend, but I’m really not having them in too many lineups.
