DraftKings Showdown 2020: Carolina @Green Bay

The second of this evening’s Saturday double-header sees the Carolina @Green Bay to face the Packers, and another DraftKings Showdown for 2020. Green Bay enters the game as 8.5 point favourites, with an O/U of 52 points. Star RB Christian McCaffrey is again unavailable for Carolina; however their offence seems to be coping well without him.

DraftKings Showdown 2020: Carolina @Green Bay Captain Options

Davante Adams ($18,300 Capt/ $12,200 Flex)

It shouldn’t take a genius to work out that Adams is one of the best WR in the league right now. He comes in as the most expensive player on the slate, and rightly so. Adams is scoring 28 DKPPG, and has scored 18 points of more in every game since Week 6. He sees 33% of targets from Rodgers, and has seen at least 10 targets in 8 of the 10 games he’s been healthy in. Adams should be a lock in your lineups.

Aaron Rodgers ($16,800 Capt/ $11,200 Flex)

Rodgers has been in the MVP conversation all season, and rightfully so. He has scored at least 23 DKFPPG since Week 6, and boasts the highest passer grade in the NFL. Carolina has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing QBs, and are allowing the 2nd-highest rate of 20+ yard passes over the past 6 weeks. Again, you shouldn’t need me to point out how good Rodgers’ deep-ball is, and he is throwing an average of just over 2 of these a game, for an average of 86 yards.

Teddy Bridgewater ($14,100 Capt/ $9,400 Flex)

Carolina’s QB comes in as their most expensive active player on this slate. Teddy Bridgewater has had a solid season with the Panthers, but has only had 2 games with over 20 DK points. However, he does have solid rushing upside, with 4 games of over 30 rushing yards. In a game where I expect Carolina to play from behind, Bridgewater will be asked to –pass at a high volume, and has a solid floor.

Mike Davis ($13,500 Capt/ $9,000 Flex)

Perhaps the most important mid-season waiver wire pickup in season long leagues, Mike Davis has had a terrific year as Carolina’s lead back in CMC’s absence. Across the last 3 games, Davis is averaging 56.7 rushing yards, 3.3 receptions, 27 receiving yards, and 1 TD per game. He comes into this game in a great matchup, as Green Bay rank in the bottom-third in rushing DVOA, and has allowed 65+ rushing yards to 13 RBs this season.

DraftKings Showdown 2020: Carolina @Green Bay Flex Options

Robby Anderson ($12,300 Flex)

Anderson has been consistent in terms of receptions all season long for Carolina. Despite only finding the end zone twice, he’s scored more than 10 DK points in all but 2 games this season, and thus provides a solid floor. GB’s secondary however, provides a stern test, and allows the 8th-lowest yards per target. Anderson is my favourite Carolina receiver in cash games, purely due to the volatile nature of his fellow teammates.

Robert Tonyan ($6,400 Flex)

Tonyan seems to be finding a real connection with Rodgers, even more so in the red zone. He has a TD in his last 4 games, but really needs a TD in order to hit value here. He doesn’t seem to have the big-play ability of GBs WRs, however could definitely find the end zone in this matchup.

Allen Lazard ($5,000 Flex)

Lazard was looking excellent in the first 3 weeks of the season before his core injury, scoring 18.2, 7.5, and 29.4 DK points. He’s seen a reduced role since returning; only hitting double-digit DK points in 1 of his 4 games since returning. However, having practiced fully all week, and with a few games under his belt, I expect Lazard to bounce back this evening, and could be a sneaky pivot off MVS in the GB passing attack.

Mason Crosby ($4,000 Flex)

Crosby has hit 15-15 FG attempts this season and 47-50 PATs. In a game with a relatively high O/U, Crosby is certainly in play tonight.

Equanimeous St. Brown ($400)

On a slate really lacking value, St. Brown provides an intriguing value play tonight. He has seen double-digit snaps in 5-straight games, with 6 targets from Rodgers in his last 4 games. At such a low price, he only needs a couple of catches to hit value, and will allow you to fit all the studs in your lineups.
