DraftKings Showdown 2021 Cleveland @Baltimore

We are here to cover the DraftKings Showdown slates for the 2021 season, continuing with Cleveland @Baltimore. Vegas has the O/U at 47 and Baltimore winning by 3.5 points. The Ravens should have Lamar Jackson back and should edge their way against the Browns. Baker Mayfield has played hurt and hasn’t looked so great. Kareem Hunt back in the lineup will help Cleveland’s chance of staying in the game.

DraftKings Showdown- Cleveland @Baltimore Captain Picks

Lamar Jackson ($18,600 Capt/ $12,400 Flex)

Lamar Jackson back in the starting lineup instills a lot of confidence in his teammates. The Cleveland defensive coordinators are now scratching their heads about ways to stop Jackson. This season he has completed 64.4% of his passes and has rushed for almost 64 yards per game. He’s officially the team’s quarterback and running back and should soak up the entire team scoring. He accounts for 46.2% of his team’s red zone scoring and is worth every penny in the captain spot.

Nick Chubb ($16,800 Capt/ $11,200 Flex)

Chubb will have to split carries today with a now healthy Kareem Hunt. Going against the second-best run defense in the league, Chubb will have his work cut out for him. I think it helps that Hunt is back in the mix to give Chubb rest between drives which will help allow him to break off significant runs. Chubb is a powerhouse go-to runner. It is apparent by the fact he leads the team in carries (142 times) and the team runs the ball 50.5% of the time. Even though Cleveland is projected to lose, Chubb plays out to be a good play because of the high usage and he will be lower owned than Lamar.

DraftKings Showdown- Cleveland @Baltimore Flex

Kareem Hunt ($7,000 Flex)

Hunt is expected to be back in the lineup and be used for 3rd down situations. Since they are playing one of the top rushing defenses, the Browns will need to push the ball through the air. Hunt could capitalize being available underneath to keep the defense off-balance. When Baker Mayfield is healthy Hunt has more upside with his pass-catching ability. Since Baker is banged up and Hunt making his first appearance since Week 6 I don’t think he will be the top scorer but will have plenty of opportunities to find the end zone.

Mark Andrews ($8,200 Flex)

Safety blanket Mark Andrews should have an easy matchup against Cleveland. The Browns have been one of the worst teams to defend against the tight end position. Andrews has 56 catches and 696 yards this season. His momentum should continue through this game as he is projected for 7 targets and will be Lamar’s primary target.

Marquise Brown ($10,800 Flex)

He has been dealing with a thigh injury and is ready to rejoin his team for Sunday Night Football. If you can fit him in to your lineup do so. He is currently ranked ninth in receiving yards per game and leads the Ravens with 82 targets. If you play Lamar Jackson with Marquise you can benefit from correlation. Also if the Browns can get the ground game going, Brown will probably be needed for a quick score in the air.

Latavius Murray ($3,600 Flex)

With Lamar Jackson back in the lineup we should see less opportunities given to the Ravens backfield. It’s still unclear if Murray has lost his starting job although Freeman walked away with more opportunities in the last outing. Murray should be given a few red zone opportunities which makes him a great low-cost player to round out the lineup.

D’Ernest Johnson ($2,200 Flex)

I like Johnson today because the Browns may elect to rest Kareem Hunt and use him in the change of pace role. He has shown he is capable of taking advantage of the opportunities granted to him and the Ravens haven’t prepared to face him. Also he is super cheap, so I plan to take my chances with third-string running back on a run-first offense.
