We are here to cover the DraftKings Showdown slates for the 2021 season, continuing with Seattle @Pittsburgh. Seattle will be without their fearless leader, Russel Wilson as they head to Heinz field to play Pittsburgh. The Steelers are dealing with a key injury themselves as JuJu Smith-Schuster went down with a season ending injury. Vegas has the O/U at 43 and a spread of -5 with the Steelers winning. Pittsburgh should win this game easily against the worst defense in the league. Also the Pittsburgh defense is no slouch so they should be able to force some turnovers on the Geno Smith lead Seattle team. I see this game as a way for both teams to get their offense clicking. We should see some new names called in this one but ultimately the Steelers win by more than a touchdown and we should look to stack them in our lineups.

DraftKings Showdown- Seattle @Pittsburgh Captain Picks
Diontae Johnson ($14,700 Capt/ $9,800 Flex)
He’s averaging over 9 targets a game and that’s only going to go up with Juju out for the year. Against a tough Broncos defense he had 2 catches, 72 yards and a touchdown. Now he’s playing against one of the worst defenses in the league. I like Johnson a lot especially at this price point. Last week Najee Harris dealt with cramps due to the extended workload. If the Steelers have a lead, instead of wearing down Harris, I see them using this time to work out some kinks in their passing offense. Also Johnson should be playing some slot today so old man Ben won’t have to try to hit him on long bombs.
Najee Harris ($17,700 Capt/ $11,800 Flex)
The first round pick has a been a bright spot for the offense. He just had his first 100 yard game against Denver and his power running style will help them against Seattle. I expect the Steelers to have a lead majority of the game, so Harris should have plenty opportunities to hit value. I know this is a good time for the Steelers to work out some kinks in their passing offense with the league but I have feeling Mike Tomlin will opt to give Big Ben a rest. Load Harris up at the captain spot and expect him to carry the workload.
DraftKings Showdown- Seattle @Pittsburgh Flex
Tyler Lockett ($8,600 Flex)
I don’t know about the other players on the team but Lockett has a ton of confidence in Geno Smith. He was quoted this week saying he is ready to rally around the new QB and is confident he can run the offense efficiently. Lockett holds 24.6% of his team target share and 23.1% of the red-zone targets. He is a key component of this offense and will be relied on by Geno to get something going when they find themselves behind. Also D.K. Metcalf is a little banged up so he may be listed in the game plan as a decoy to free up other receivers like Lockett and Swain
James Washington ($5,200 Flex)
James Washington missed week 5 against the Broncos with a groin issue. Now healthy we should see him get some action in this game. He will primarily play on the perimeter and be a threat deep for Big Ben. Mike Tomlin said this week “Unfortunate the injury is for Juju, it provides an opportunity for James to expand his role”. Juju primarily played slot so we see Claypool and Johnson pick up the slack at that position while James moves to the outside. With the run game now active, I expect Ben to take a few more deep shots, which could mean a few more opportunities for a reasonable priced WR.
Eric Ebron ($3,400 Flex)
It’s been a disappointing season for the Steelers TE. His role has dramatically dropped this year but with Juju out for the season we could see this change. Pittsburgh may transition to more of 12 personnel which could mean more opportunities for Ebron. Also earlier this season he was nursing a banged up hamstring. Now healthy and less mouths to feed on this offense I can see a world where Ebron reverts back to his old self
Freddy Swain ($2,400 Flex)
With a new QB at the helm we should expect changes to the offense. This could open up opportunities for Freddy Swain to get a few more looks. He currently hold 10.6% of his teams target share and 15.4% of the red-zone targets. The Seahawks will need to use some trickery to get into the end-zone and Swain could be the piece to surprise the Steeler defense. I expect for him to add to his season total of 10 catches, 134 yards, and two touchdowns this game
Jason Myers ($4,000 Flex)
Myers is having a rough season. He has already missed 2 field goals and a crucial extra point against the Titans. Last year he went a perfect 24/24 so we know he’s capable of being accurate. I look for him to bounce back today with a new quarterback and the team needing him as they will struggle to find the endzone. Also his price tag is makes it manageable to fit in all the studs.
