DraftKings SNF Showdown 2022 – Tennessee @Jacksonville

Finishing off the last Saturday of the 2022 season- the DraftKings showdown, Tennessee @Jacksonville. The winner gets the AFC South division title and into the playoffs. The loser goes home. This game also brings a contrast of styles. The Titans plan is simple- give it to Henry and watch him play human skittles. For the Jaguars, allow their young QB to sit in the pocket and pick apart the Titans poor secondary. It should be an interesting game!

DraftKings SNF Showdown 2022 – Tennessee @Jacksonville Captain Picks

Derrick Henry ($17,700 Capt/ $11,800 Flex)

Henry is going to be the way that the Titans find any success in this game. Likely to get 20 or more carries in this game, against a Jacksonville line that has struggled to stop production on the ground this season. His last three games have all been 100+ rushing yard games with a score in each. Has also been getting more involved through the air too, so another source of points. It’s really hard to look elsewhere, even with the price tag.

Trevor Lawrence ($16,200 Capt/ $10,800 Flex)

Lawrence has been looking more and more comfortable in this offense and should be able to perform well against this Titans secondary. Had his best game of the season against the Titans in Week 14, with 368 yards, 3 TDs as well as finding the endzone on the ground. If the Jaguars are to get the win in this game, it will come from Lawrence’s arm. Knowing the receiver that you can pair him with that will produce will be the key.

Evan Engram ($10,500 Capt/ $7,000 Flex)

Engram has been a good target for Lawrence in recent games. Smashed in Week 14 against the Titans with 11 catches for 162 yards and 2 TDs, before backing it up in the next two games with a total of 15 catches for 175 yards. Should see around 10 targets in the offense, which is enough for him to hit value here. If he manages to score a TD then he is going to smash at his price tag.

Robert Woods ($8,700 Capt/ $5,800 Flex)

On each slate, I try to find a cheaper CPT play that allows you to play multiple studs. On this slate, it’s Woods. Woods is leading the team in targets and could benefit from check-downs if the Jaguars just go box-heavy to stop Henry. Last time out, he caught 5 of 7 targets for 49 yards- not spectacular, but good enough to consider alongside multiple studs in your flex.

DraftKings SNF Showdown 2022 – Tennessee @Jacksonville Flex Picks

Travis Etienne Jr. ($10,600 Flex)

I wrote up the Saturday slate and said Etienne is being overlooked. It’s the same on the showdown too. The game plan for the offense is going to be to exploit the weakness of the Titans’ secondary. It is actually effective against the run, and they showed that in Week 14 when they limited Etienne to just 32 yards from 17 carries. I’ll have some shares, but at the price, I won’t have too many.

Christian Kirk ($10,200 Flex)

The Jaguars blueprint is to get success through the air, and Kirk has some milestones he could hit in this game to reach some incentive milestones. After two games where he has largely been absent, he should be able to bounce back here. Potential for a big game if he breaks his scoring drought, having not scored a TD since his double in Week 10.

Joshua Dobbs ($9,000 Flex)

Never say never when it comes to the QB position. Dobbs isn’t a lock to hit value at the price, but we could see it if the Jaguars secondary give up some big plays to Burks or Woods. It’s hard to really trust him enough to have meaningful shares, with better plays around the price, but you can’t discount him completely.

Zay Jones ($7,600 Flex)

Jones has had some nice games in the second half of the season, including a 100+ yard 3 TD game against the Cowboys. With his ability to make big plays, he has gone over the 100-yard mark twice this season. With a $2.6k saving on Kirk, with the same (or more) upside in the offense is going to be a popular play alongside Lawrence on the slate.

Treylon Burks ($6,400 Flex)

Burks has been having a good rookie season, but has been hit with injury. Showing early signs of the style of player they lost with A.J. Brown leaving, able to make big-plays off of limited work, especially in the second half of the season. With Doubs throwing the ball last week, he managed to get 8 targets in this run-first offense. Probably has a higher ceiling than Woods on the slate, but equally has a much lower floor.

Marvin Jones ($5,400 Flex)

Jones is really the odd man out in the Jaguars offense, with Christian Kirk and Zay Jones being the primary and secondary receivers. But, the team do keep putting Marvin Jones out on the field. He really hasn’t done alot on the season though, with just 44 receptions for 500 yards and 3 scores on the season. Has a total of 11 receptions for 93 yards and a single score in his last 3 games. For me, out of contention outside of a punt lineup.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine ($5,000 Flex)

Considering he has been on the field for 70%+ of snaps since Week 4, he really isn’t getting much in the Titans offense. Has the ability to dominate a slate, shown by his Week 10 performance against the Broncos (where he caught 5 passes for 119 yards and 2 TDs). But equally, that one game was around 30% of his production on the season. With the pricing, there are plays I prefer that have a higher floor.

Chig Okonkwo/ Austin Hooper ($4,800/ $3,000 Flex)

The TE position for the Titans could be a nice way to get some TD equity for the Titans through the air. Okonkwo is a big-bodied receiver who has had 3 receptions in 5 of his last 6 games, and he looks to be a better fit for how Dobbs plays QB. The issue is that he isn’t on the field as often Hooper. Hooper is the fantasy TE2, but could see more usage with Okonkwo dealing with an injury. Really isn’t getting a decent number of looks though, so he is going to need to fall into the endzone to hit value.

DraftKings SNF Showdown 2022 – Tennessee @Jacksonville Kickers and DSTs

The kickers here are in-play, I’m loving kickers on showdown slates this season as they have a great floor for the price. Riley Patterson ($4,200) has been good all season, and has scored double-digit points in 3 of his last 4 games (the game against the Texans really didn’t need him to do much). Has been consistently looked to keep the scoreboard moving this season. Randy Bullock ($4,000) on the other hand hasn’t really managed to do too much this season, with just 17 FG attempts this season. I much prefer Patterson to Bullock as a result.

The defenses are in play to a degree. The Jaguars DST ($4,600) have shown their ability to make plays, with 31 sacks and a combined 28 turnovers on the season, with a number of those coming in their last four games. Tannehill was sacked 4 times and lost the ball twice in their Week 14 game, and Doubs hasn’t shown real strength in ball security. The Titans ($3,400) are pretty much out of contention for me on the slate. Lawrence has been holding the ball effectively, and the Titans aren’t strong with playmakers on defense, not troubling the Jaguars in Week 14 at all.
