Expect the Bills to lean on their balanced attack while Jackson looks to exploit Buffalo’s weaknesses on the ground. With both teams boasting top-tier talent on both sides of the ball, this is shaping up to be an exciting contest with a lot of DFS potential.
DraftKings SNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Baltimore Captain Picks
Josh Allen ($16,500 Capt/ $11,000 Flex)
Josh Allen has been nothing short of dominant through the first three weeks of the 2024 season. His efficiency has improved, and he’s distributing the ball well across all of Buffalo’s offensive weapons, highlighted by a Week 3 performance where 10 different Bills recorded a catch. Since offensive coordinator Joe Brady took over play-calling in 2023, Allen has helped guide the Bills to a 10-2 record while leading the highest-scoring offense in the league. With increased control at the line of scrimmage and a balanced run game behind him, Allen remains a must-start in the captain slot, even against a tough Baltimore defense.
Lamar Jackson ($16,200 Capt/ $10,800 Flex)
Lamar Jackson continues to dazzle as both a passer and rusher, ranking as the 4th highest scoring QB through three weeks. While his passing touchdowns have been limited, Jackson’s rushing upside keeps his floor high, especially with a Buffalo defense that struggles against mobile quarterbacks. The Bills allow only 5.1 yards per pass attempt, but they rank ninth in most rushing yards allowed per carry, a weakness Jackson can exploit. In what should be a competitive game, Jackson is primed to deliver another stellar performance, making him a strong captain choice in this showdown slate.
Derrick Henry ($14,700 Capt/ $9,800 Flex)
Derrick Henry has shown no signs of slowing down, coming off a monstrous performance against the Cowboys where he ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Tonight he faces a Buffalo defense that has given up 4.7 yards per carry, but has only allowed one rushing touchdown all season. While Buffalo’s defense has stifled most teams in the air, their vulnerability on the ground gives Henry a clear path to fantasy success. With the Ravens likely to lean on him if the game stays close, Henry is a strong captain pick in a high-stakes matchup.
James Cook ($14,400 Capt/ $9,600 Flex)
James Cook, currently the 6th in fantasy scoring for RBs, has thrived as Buffalo’s lead back but faces his stiffest test yet against Baltimore’s league-best run defense. The Ravens allow just 50 rushing yards per game, but they’ve also given up the eighth-most receptions to running backs, which plays right into Cook’s skill set as a pass-catcher. While his rushing opportunities may be limited, Cook’s versatility in the passing game makes him a sneaky captain play. If Buffalo finds itself in a competitive game, Cook could be a key difference maker both on the ground and through the air.
DraftKings SNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Baltimore Flex Picks
Zay Flowers ($8,600 Flex)
Zay Flowers has been one of the NFL’s most targeted receivers through three weeks, but his efficiency has taken a step back. Despite being targeted 25 times, Flowers is only averaging 49.3 yards per game with a low catch percentage. Now, he faces a Buffalo defense that excels in limiting big plays and touchdowns. While Flowers should still see plenty of volume, his ceiling might be capped, making him a low-end flex play in a tough matchup.
Khalil Shakir ($7,600 Flex)
Khalil Shakir has quietly become Buffalo’s most reliable wide receiver this season, catching all 14 of his targets. He faces a Ravens secondary that has struggled mightily, giving up 100-yard games to multiple WR1s already. While Shakir tends to work underneath, his consistent target share provides a safe floor. In what should be a closer game, Shakir projects as a solid Flex option with room for upside if the Bills are forced into a shootout.
Dalton Kincaid ($7,200 Flex)
This could finally be the week Dalton Kincaid breaks out as a key piece of Buffalo’s offense. Despite only managing 85 yards and one touchdown over three games, Kincaid has a prime opportunity to exploit Baltimore’s defense, which struggles against tight ends. The Ravens have allowed the second-most receptions and yards to the position, and in what projects to be a more competitive game, Kincaid should stay involved throughout. He’s a strong flex option for those looking to take advantage of this favorable matchup.
Keon Coleman ($6,600 Flex)
Keon Coleman is a risky option heading into Sunday night’s matchup against Baltimore. After catching his first NFL touchdown in Week 3, Coleman’s involvement in the offense remains limited, largely due to disciplinary reasons and game flow. He only saw the field after the Bills secured a big lead, which makes his lack of snaps less concerning. With plenty of competition for targets and a tough matchup against the Ravens’ secondary, Coleman is a risky flex play.
Isaiah Likely ($6,200 Flex)
Isaiah Likely’s upside has taken a hit with Baltimore’s tight end rotation muddying the waters. While Likely showcased his potential in Week 1, his inconsistency makes him difficult to trust. The Bills are stout against the pass, meaning both Likely and Mark Andrews could struggle to find room. Given that Likely hasn’t finished the last two weeks as a top 5 TE, he’s a risky, low-floor play in this matchup.
Justice Hill ($5,400 Flex)
Justice Hill could quietly have a big game, especially if the Bills and Ravens end up trading points. Hill’s pass-catching ability makes him a sneaky Flex option in PPR formats, particularly with the Bills giving up the fourth-most receptions to running backs this season. While Hill may not dominate on the ground, his role in the passing game could lead to a solid fantasy output. With a projected 46.5-point total, this is a contest where Hill’s receiving prowess might shine.
Rashod Bateman ($4,400 Flex)
Rashod Bateman remains a fade for this week’s contest against Buffalo. His target share (10.9%) and yards per game (27) are already low, and now he faces one of the toughest pass defenses in the league. The Bills have allowed the fewest PPR points per target to wide receivers, making it unlikely that Bateman sees much action. Without a clear role in the offense, he’s best avoided, especially with Lamar Jackson expected to rely more on the run.
Dart Throw Plays (Various)
Here are a few dart plays to round out your lineup. These are high-risk, high-reward picks best suited for GPPs—not for cash games:
- Curtis Samuel (WR, BUF) $3,400 Flex – Samuel caught all three of his targets for 22 yards and added a carry for no gain, but he’s seen very limited playing time this season. With just 17 snaps last game, Samuel feels like a gadget play the Bills may be saving for later in the year.
- Nelson Agholor (WR, BAL) $3,200 Flex – Agholor caught his only pass for 56 yards last week but remains a low-volume option with a 5.8% target share. With fewer snaps than Rashod Bateman, his upside is limited, but he could break a big play if given the chance.
- Ray Davis (RB, BUF) $2,800 Flex – Logging 7 carries for 22 yards and a touchdown last game, and he shares backup duties with Ty Johnson. His 5’9″, 220-pound frame could make him a sneaky goal-line option, but his usage will remain minimal without an injury ahead of him.
- Ty Johnson (RB, BUF) $2,400 Flex – Johnson had 3 carries for 18 yards and caught all his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown, but his increased usage was mainly due to a blowout win. With James Cook healthy, Johnson is unlikely to see many opportunities unless the game gets out of hand again.
- Mack Hollins (WR, BUF) $2,000 Flex – He caught one of his two targets for 16 yards, despite playing 60% of the snaps. Primarily used as a blocker and decoy, he hasn’t seen enough volume to be a reliable fantasy option.
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR, BUF) $1,200 Flex– He led Bills WRs in snaps last game but only caught 1 of 2 targets for 7 yards. As a deep ball threat, he draws defensive attention, but Josh Allen’s tendency to spread the ball has hurt his fantasy production.
DraftKings SNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Baltimore Kickers and DSTs
Justin Tucker ($5,000) is off to the worst start of his career, missing 3 of his first 8 field goal attempts this season. At 34, Tucker’s decline started last year when he struggled from long range, going just 1-for-5 on attempts over 50 yards. Despite these struggles, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh still has full confidence in his veteran kicker. If the Ravens’ offense falters in the red zone, he could see plenty of opportunities to deliver. However, his recent inconsistency makes him a risky play if Baltimore’s offense finishes drives effectively. Tyler Bass ($4,800)has been solid for the Bills, making both of his field goals and 5-of-6 extra points in his last game, with the lone miss coming from a blocked attempt. Head coach Sean McDermott remains confident in Bass despite some early-season miscues. With Bass converting 82.8% of his kicks last season, he’s a reliable option, particularly if you anticipate a game where Buffalo’s offense stalls in Baltimore territory. Bass offers a consistent floor but limited upside if the Bills are efficient in the red zone.
Bills DST ($4,000) The Buffalo defense has been on a roll, holding their last two opponents to just 10 points each. This unit is tied for fifth in the league with 11 sacks, and they’ve been downright stingy, allowing only 4.2 yards per play and just 4.4 yards per passing attempt. That kind of efficiency up front is due in large part to the stellar play of defensive tackles Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones, while Von Miller has already racked up 3 sacks over the first three games. Notably, the Bills haven’t allowed a single play over 30 yards this season, a testament to their ability to limit explosive plays. If you think the Bills can continue their dominance and get after Lamar Jackson, this defense has a decent projection of 6 fantasy points and could be a solid option in GPP lineups. Ravens DST ($3,600) The Ravens’ defense, while traditionally strong, has struggled this season, particularly in late-game situations. They’ve given up the most passing yards per game in the league and have been especially vulnerable to opposing teams’ star wide receivers. Communication issues have plagued the secondary, and this unit has lacked the playmaking ability that was a hallmark of their success last year. They’ll be looking to clean things up in this contest against the Bills, but it won’t be easy. With Josh Allen leading the offense, Baltimore’s defense could be in for a tough night.
