We are here to cover the second game on Thanksgiving of the 2022 season and the DraftKings showdown slate- New York @Dallas. This game is, for me, the best game on this small slate. It has everything you want. Star power, offense, and the possibility of Daniel Jones entertaining with a deer caught in the headlights run.
DraftKings Thanksgiving Showdown 2022 – New York @Dallas Captain Picks
Dak Prescott ($16,500 Capt/ $11,000 Flex)
Prescott wouldn’t normally be in my CPT spot considerations, he isn’t in the list of ‘exemption’ QBs that I have. But this feels like a great game for Prescott to perform. The weapons that Dallas has with CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup out wide give great field-stretching ability. But, the nice thing has been how they are using Tony Pollard out in space which is inflating Prescott’s stats.
CeeDee Lamb ($16,200 Capt/ $10,800 Flex)
Speaking of Lamb, he didn’t get the volume I was hoping for last time out. Instead, the running backs for the Cowboys combined to take control of the game. Lamb has the ability to go nuclear on any slate. Don’t forget in Week 3, when Cooper Rush was throwing the ball, Lamb had 12 targets that he converted to 8 receptions for 87 yards and a score. Could get a bump if the running game struggles against the Giants defensive front.
DraftKings Thanksgiving Showdown 2022 – New York @Dallas Flex Picks
Saquon Barkley ($10,400 Flex)
Barkley struggled last week, and the Cowboys front is a great unit. I can’t totally write him off on the slate though- the volume just can’t be ignored. If the Cowboys start really putting pressure on Daniel Jones, we could see check-down city, or just an implosion of turnovers…..
Tony Pollard/ Ezekiel Elliott ($9,800/ $8,000 Flex)
Pollard has been in a rich vein of form recently, culminating in his performance last week against the Vikings. The way the Giants have been using Pollard has been perfect, but perfection can only last for so long. The fact that the Cowboys are still using Ezekiel Elliott on the goal line hurts his top-level value too. I’m expecting Elliott’s ownership to be significantly lower than Pollard on the slate, and I for one will be leaning toward Elliott to steal some scores here.
Daniel Jones ($9,200 Flex)
Jones in this one feels like he could make or break a lineup. The Dallas defense is going to bring pressure, which has led to Jones imploding in previous games with turnovers and struggling on offense. But, Jones seems happy to run, and I fancy Jones to break off a run or two in this one. At the price, the risk of implosion is baked in to a degree too. I’ll have a few lineups with him in.
Darius Slayton ($7,200 Flex)
Slayton may have started the season out on the practice squad, but he is now the Giants leading receiver. With Wan’Dale Robinson out, Slayton should see the vast majority of the targets for the Giants. A sneaky CPT play, but a solid flex play
Dalton Schultz ($7,000 Flex)
Schultz has a decent matchup here. The Giants defense are middling against TEs, but Schultz should be able to push that average up if given the opportunity from Prescott. We haven’t had one of the big games that he had last season, and it might not come here, but Schultz has a solid floor week to week.
Michael Gallup ($6,600 Flex)
Gallup was a player that I liked last week against a weak Vikings secondary, but he struggled. His deep threat will surely come good though, the Cowboys offense is likely going to be airing the ball out with the strength of the Giants defensive front. Has great upside here, and at the price could smash with just a few opportunities.
Richie James/ Kenny Golladay ($5,200/ $4,200 Flex)
One of these two receivers is going to need to step up as the secondary receiver for the Giants. James is a player you need to keep track of, as he is currently questionable coming into this game. If he isn’t a go, then I’m even more tempted by Golladay. Golladay had his best game of the season (ok, the bar was set extremely low) last week. With Robinson out, and his likely low ownership, I like him as a GPP play.

Lawrence Cager/ Chris Myarick/ Tanner Hudson ($1,200/ $200/ $200 Flex)
The TE position, much the receiver position, is very much patched together. Daniel Bellinger has been ruled out of the contest, which leaves a gap for this trio to step up. Now, all of these options are going to be somewhat of a punt. Cager has been on the field for around 70% of the snaps in the past two weeks, but Hudson has had far more targets on the season. I’ll go with Hudson at the minimum, allowing me to spend up elsewhere.
DraftKings Thanksgiving Showdown 2022 – New York @Dallas Kickers and DSTs
The Cowboys DST ($5,600) have a huge opportunity to perform in this game. Jones has been sacked, as well as turned the ball over plenty. With the big playmakers that the Cowboys have, including Micah Parsons, one of those turnovers could lead to a score. I don’t even hate the Cowboys at CPT, given the price tag. I don’t really have interest in the Giants DST ($3,200) here. The defensive line is an effective real-life unit, but it doesn’t always translate to fantasy production. With the strength of the Cowboys offense, I’d look elsewhere on the slate.
The kickers in this one are both solid. Brett Maher ($4,000) has been effective this season and boomed two long range FGs (yep, one was cancelled as a replay was reviewed, but he still hit it). If Dallas’ offense was to stall out at all, Maher is a reliable option with a decent ceiling. Graham Gano ($3,800) is another decent option. Reliable kicker week to week, but missed two PATs last week. In a dome, should be decent enough and possibly the best scoring fantasy option for the Giants.
