DraftKings TNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Miami

Ready to dominate the 2024 DraftKings Showdown slate for this AFC East clash of Buffalo @Miami? Two teams coming off big wins and primed for another showdown. Whether you’re banking on Tyreek Hill’s explosive upside as your captain or looking for sneaky value in the depths of the roster, there’s plenty of fantasy potential to uncover.

The Dolphins and Bills have faced off multiple times recently, with Buffalo holding the edge in the last few meetings. Most recently, they secured a 21-14 win in January. But this time, Miami looks poised to turn the tide. The last five meetings have been nail-biters, with scores like 48-20, 34-31, 32-29, and 21-19 showing just how close and unpredictable these games can be. The Dolphins are ready to break through and reclaim a win in this high-stakes rematch, and there’s no shortage of fantasy options to consider.

DraftKings TNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Miami Captain Picks

Tyreek Hill ($17,400 Capt/ $11,600 Flex)

Tyreek Hill had himself quite a week – starting with a confrontation with the cops, and then dropping a monster performance on the field. His chemistry with Tua Tagovailoa is only getting better, and I expect another huge game from him against the Bills. With a projection of 25.3 points, Hill is set to be one of the highest-scoring players on the slate. I plan to have him or Josh Allen in the Captain spot for the majority of my lineups.

Josh Allen ($16,500 Capt/ $11,000 Flex)

Josh Allen is another strong Captain pick. He’s the heartbeat of the Bills’ offense, responsible for most of their touchdowns – whether it’s through the air or on the ground. Last game, after struggling to start, he finished with two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. With a projection of 27.1 points, pairing Allen with James Cook, Keon Coleman, or Khalil Shakir offers excellent correlation in your lineup.

Devon Achane ($14,700 Capt/ $9,800 Flex)

All eyes are on the Miami injury report as Achane’s status will shape how we build our lineups. If healthy, load him up – he’s coming off a solid performance with 24 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown, and seven catches for 76 yards. With Raheem Mostert out, his usage could spike dramatically. Achane’s projection is 18.6 points, and he could be a pivotal piece if active.

Tua Tagovailoa ($14,100 Capt/ $9,400 Flex)

Tua had a shaky first half in his last game but recovered to finish with a 62% completion rate and 338 yards passing. I like stacking him with Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle for a mini-team stack. If he can find the end zone multiple times, he could be a lucrative Captain option. He’s projected for 23.4 points, making him a strong flex or Captain choice depending on game flow.

DraftKings TNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Miami Flex Picks

James Cook ($9,000 Flex)

James Cook has no shortage of opportunities, finishing the last game with 19 carries and three targets. I love his volume and plan to include him in all my lineups, either in the flex or as a Captain. His only downside is that Josh Allen often opts to run the ball himself near the goal line. Cook’s projection sits at 15.8 points, which makes him a steady play with upside.

Jaylen Waddle ($8,600 Flex)

Waddle put up an impressive line last game with five catches for 109 yards. He’s an integral part of Miami’s offense and could easily be the highest-scoring player in the matchup. With Hill’s recent heroics, Waddle might be lower-owned, providing a great leverage play. His projection of 18.2 points makes him an appealing choice in tournaments.

Dalton Kincaid ($7,200 Flex)

It doesn’t look like the Bills are keen on using their tight ends in the passing game. Kincaid and Dawson Knox combined for only four targets last game. At this price, he’s an easy fade with a mere projection of 2.5 points.

Khalil Shakir ($6,200 Flex)

Shakir made a solid impact in the red zone, fighting his way in for a lone touchdown. He’s expected to step up with Stefon Diggs off the team, so I plan to have him in a few lineups paired with Josh Allen. With a projection of 9.1 points, he’s a solid dart throw in deeper tournaments.

Keon Coleman ($5,800 Flex)

Keon Coleman led the team in snaps, targets, and receptions last game. I’m looking for him to build off this performance and establish himself as a reliable target for Josh Allen. His projection of 10.4 points makes him an intriguing low-cost option.

Curtis Samuel ($5,400 Flex)

I have mixed feelings about Curtis. After supporting him through his days with Washington, it’s disappointing to see the same struggles with the Bills. He only played 17 snaps last game and doesn’t seem to be carving out a meaningful role. At this price point, he should be about $2K cheaper.

Ray Davis ($3,600 Flex)

Davis saw limited action last game, only appearing on six snaps. He looks like a clear fade option this week, with minimal opportunities to shine.

Dart Throw Plays (Various)

Here are a few dart plays to round out your lineup. These are high-risk, high-reward picks best suited for GPPs—not for cash games:

  • Jonnu Smith (TE, MIA) $2,800 Flex – Smith had just two targets last game and didn’t do much with them. He’s known for his yards after catch, but with limited opportunities, I plan to fade him tonight.
  • Dawson Knox (TE, BUF) $2,600 Flex – Knox caught one of his two targets for 23 yards last game. He’s second on the depth chart and doesn’t have a significant role in the passing game, making him a tough sell even at this price.
  • Jeff Wilson Jr. (MIA, RB) $2,400 Flex – With Mostert out, Wilson should see an increase in workload. The coaching staff trusts him, and he’s proven effective when given chances. Last game, he had five carries for 26 yards, including a 14-yard run. Projected for 6.7 points, he’s a viable budget play.
  • Ty Johnson (RB, BUF) $2,200 Flex – Johnson exited last game with a knee injury but returned to practice on Wednesday. Buried on the depth chart, he’s only likely to get a handful of opportunities in this game.
  • Jaylen Wright (RB, MIA) $2,000 Flex – Wright was a healthy inactive last game but will suit up due to Mostert’s injury. I suspect McDaniels will be cautious with his rookie against a playoff-caliber team, leaning more on the proven Jeff Wilson.
  • Mack Hollins (WR, BUF) $1,600 Flex – Hollins played the second-most offensive snaps behind Keon Coleman and caught a touchdown for 11 yards. Although he was only targeted twice, he could be a decent dart throw as Josh Allen isn’t afraid to spread the ball around.

DraftKings TNF Showdown 2024 – Buffalo @Miami Kickers and DSTs

Tyler Bass ($4,800) is coming off a perfect game where he converted every kick and racked up 10 points. If you need a solid filler for your lineup, Bass offers reliable value. With a projection of 8.0 points, he’s a dependable choice, especially if you foresee a game where the Bills’ offense stalls in Miami territory. Jason Sanders ($4,400) nailed a game-winning field goal to round out his 10-point performance last week. In scenarios where field goals could play a bigger role, Sanders is a viable option. His projection sits at 7.5 points, and he’s worth considering if you believe Miami’s drives will be stopped short by the Bills’ defense.

Bills DST ($4,000) brings a formidable pass rush and a strong secondary, fresh off a game where they recorded a fumble recovery and four sacks. However, they also allowed 28 points and 270 total yards, which could spell trouble against Miami’s explosive offense. With a projection of 5.6 points, they’re more of a contrarian play if you think they can disrupt Tua and force turnovers. Miami DST ($3,000) mirrors the Bills’ situation, coming off a game with a fumble recovery and three sacks while allowing 267 total yards. With both teams featuring high-powered offenses, defenses may not have the highest ceiling in this matchup. Projected at 5.4 points, Miami’s defense could be a fade unless you anticipate a low-scoring grind.
