Notable Players- Bryce Young

Young is definitely the future, but I’m not massivley convinced that he is the present. There is no doubt that Young has the talent to succeed in the NFL, but this is still a rookie season in a team that is trying to mesh multiple pieces into their offense. The combination of an offense that has struggled with the typical inconsistency a rookie season has, I’m not in on Young this season for redraft leagues.

Notable Players- Miles Sanders & Chuba Hubbard

This backfield doesn’t give me a great feeling. Just because I’m just not sure on the number of scoring opportunities that there are going to be in the offense. Sanders has clearly been brought in to lead this backfield, after heading up the committee for the Eagles. The question mark around his fantasy value is going to be around how involved he gets in the passing game. Volume on the ground shouldn’t be a problem, given the lack of talent at the position.

Hubbard feels like the type of player I’m never going to draft outside of deep leagues, but I’ll see if I can pick him up on waivers if Sanders were to go down. Hubbard hasn’t really shown an ability to do anything of note outside of a handful of games.

Notable Players- Adam Thielen, D.J. Chark, Jonathan Mingo & Laviska Shenault

Thielen has moved on from the Vikings, where he was the secondary option to a team in dire need of a veteran to steady the ship. There is is no doubt that even if his powers aren’t what they were, he is the lead receiver here. With the volume of targets, even if they are ‘bad’, he will have fantasy value as a WR3 or flex option- god bless garbage time.

Outside of Thielen, I’ll take a shot on Mingo. It might be a struggle to start the season, but he should see the field plenty and as we have covered, this offense is in a rebuild so there isn’t a massive competition for targets. I would only consider it in deeper leagues though.

A real dice throw is Shenault, who has shown that he is a versatile offensive weapon. But, really you’ll see in the opening weeks if he is worth keeping for the season, or needs to be booted in the first few weeks of the season.

Notable Players- Hayden Hurst

I really hope that this landing spot helps Hurst have some (consistent) fantasy value. Hurst finds himself on another new team in the NFL, after leaving the Ravens, Falcons and Bengals. He has had fantasy value, but has struggled to really make an impact consistently in their offenses.

Finally with the Panthers he lands on a team that he can be one of the main targets (and a safe body in the middle of the field). With a rookie QB too, having an easy option close to the line of scrimmage can help ease that pressure.
