The Chargers have been good enough to make the playoffs for a long time now, but seem to either barely scrap in or barely miss it. With the way the team is currently constructed, you have to believe that as long as Herbert stays healthy, this team is bound to make a run in the playoffs this year. But the catch is, they’ll more than likely be playing from the wildcard position as the Chiefs are in the driver’s seat in their division.

Draft Recap

Not only did the selection of Quentin Johnston in the first round and even Derius Davis in the fourth round give the Chargers excellent depth at the position, it also gave the succession plans for the current staples in this offense. There’s an out in both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams’ contracts following the 2023 season as both contracts are backloaded. I expect a restructure, but you never know what might open up there. In addition to the wide receivers, they also picked up a nice backup/insurance plan in quarterback Max Duggan in the seventh round.
