It feels like it would be a disservice to Matthew Stafford for the LA Rams to not go all in on being a contender once again as he enters his age-35 season. But this team is not the same one that Stafford led to the Super Bowl just two seasons ago. The team’s age and the lack of rookie talent over the past few years look like it has started to catch up to the Rams. If Stafford stays healthy in McVay’s offense, they could very well stay in contention for a deep playoff run.

Draft Recap

The Rams had a lot of needs and a lot of compensatory draft picks to address those needs with volume. They took the TCU Guard, Steve Avila, in the second round and the Georgia tackle Warren McClendon in the fifth to bolster a dreadful offensive line last season. They took their potential quarterback of the future in the fourth round with another Georgia player, Stetson Bennett (who is only 10 years younger than Stafford). Puka Nacua and Zach Evans were standouts at BYU and Ole Miss respectively, and both have real chances to make an impact in year one in this offense.
