Notable Players- Kirk Cousins, Nick Mullens, Jaren Hall

Kirk Cousins is one of the few constants in fantasy football. He’s finished as a mid-to-backend QB1 just about every year since 2015, and there’s nothing to suggest that won’t happen again this year. For Dynasty leagues, keep in mind that he’s turning 35 before the season starts, and only has a few years left. But a great buy on the cheap for contenders.

Nick Mullens is likely the backup if Kirk goes down and we’ve seen capable play there when Mullens has had to step in. Hall doesn’t need to be rostered in any format as he’s a dart throw for even the Vikings with limited playing opportunities ahead of him.

Notable Players- Alexander Mattison, Ty Chandler, Kene Nwangwu, DeWayne McBride

Alexander Mattison is the RB1 and then it’s anyone’s game after that. Mattison will take the lead role in an offense that featured a bell-cow running back when they had Dalvin Cook. Whether they do that or not with Mattison at the helm or not isn’t set in stone, but when he has filled in for Cook in the past, he’s been a workhorse. So, the backup in this offense will probably really just be a handcuff without standalone value.

The backup for the Vikings could really be any one of Chandler, Nwangwu, or DeWayne McBride. The most likely outcome is probably a good mix of two of these three backs while the other one is relegated to the practice squad. Nwangwu is a safe bet to make the roster mainly due to his special teams role as a returner. I personally think McBride will be the one left out, but we’ll have to monitor training camp to get a better tell this offseason.

Notable Players- JuJu Smith-Schuster, Devante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, Tyquan Thornton, Kayshon Boutte, Demario Douglas

Justin Jefferson is a top 2 Dynasty wide receiver and is in contention to finish as the WR1 in fantasy every year. Jordan Addison has a chance to step into the old Adam Theilen role where we’ve seen this offense produce multiple WR1s for years now. But Theilen didn’t have someone like Hockenson to compete with for targets. I think Addison has a good shot to be a great fantasy WR2 with that WR1 upside in the future. Osborn is a wide receiver handcuff to keep an eye on during the season.

Notable Players- TJ Hockenson, Josh Oliver

Hockenson finished as the TE2 in total points and TE3 in points per game last season. He’s solidified as at least a top 5 Dynasty tight end, but the switch of Theilen for Addison makes his long-term outlook a little murky. He’s still a talented pass catcher, but Addison in a year or two could be a lot more target-demanding than a 32-year-old Adam Theilen. Still, Hockenson provides a safe floor and an extremely high ceiling at a position where that’s hard to find. Oliver is likely un-rosterable even with an injury to Hockenson with all the mouths to feed in this offense.
