Alright, week 1 is officially behind us, so let’s move on and get into so Week 2 IDP waiver wire adds! Week 1 brings a little bit of clarity to a cloudy situation with no preseason. You should be making weekly waiver wire moves on offense as well as IDP. Don’t sit on someone with a big name for more than a few weeks if they are massively underperforming. IDP waiver wire is crucial to you solidifying your playoff push!
Here are a handful of players that I would be considering getting on your team ASAP. I didn’t just choose the highest scoring Free Agents, I also made sure to make the suggestions based on their week 2 matchup.
IDP Week 2 Waiver Wire: Linebackers
Jerome Baker MIA V BUF
If you missed his performance I feel sorry for you! Baker was all over the field racked up 13 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 1 huge forced fumble to stop a New England TD. He has that tackling fuel like no other and should be rostered in 100% of IDP leagues!
Myles Jack JAX @TEN
Jack had a great performance and should continue now that he has moved back to OLB which is his natural position. Jack racked up 8 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack. I have been hyping Jack up as the late LB to own and he proved it week 1.
AJ Johnson DEN @PIT
Johnson had an amazing performance on MNF. He was all over the field and I heard on the broadcast they released Todd Davis because Johnson is the top LB in Denver now. Johnson notched 10 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles in their Monday night loss.
Patrick Queen BAL @HOU
This rookie proved why he was a 1st round draft pick. Queen had 4 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. He should be rostered everywhere as he is going to be a big piece of that Ravens defense moving forward.
Jon Bostic WAS @ARI
The old man getting it done! Washington’s defense is a force to be reckoned with. Bostic held down the middle and got 5 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack. He should be a major part of their front 7 moving forward.
Eric Kendricks MIN @IND
He should have already been rostered in all IDP leagues but he is not. Kendricks had a big tackle game like he usually does notching 7 Solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 1 tackle for loss.
IDP Week 2 Waiver Wire: Defense Ends
Aldon Smith DAL V ATL
In Smith’s first game back since 2015 he proved that he is worth rostering. 6 solo tackles and 5 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack. He should be grabbed asap!
Chase Winovich NE @SEA
Winovich having a good game was not a surprise to me. He is the new Kyle Van Noy of the Patriots defense. Stat line for Sunday’s game was 4 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles and 1 tackle for loss. He is the swiss army knife of the patriots and I would get him on your team if you had an injury or an under performer.
Leonard Williams NYG @CHI
Williams is a force to be reckoned with. 4 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 2 tackle for loss, 1 sack. Their defense should be on the field a lot giving him lots of opportunities to rush the QB.
IDP Week 2 Waiver Wire: Safeties
Adrian Phillips NE @SEA
Not surprised how good he did. New England always has defenders worth rostering and here is the safety to roster on their team! Phillips had a big game with 8 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 1 tackle for loss, 1 pass defended, 1 Int. So he was all over the field and you love to see that out of your safety.
Darian Thompson DAL V ATL
Dallas is usually in high scoring games with team passing on them a lot. Thompson is a great IDP player to own. His week 1 was great 9 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack. It’s always great when your safety notches a sack! I expect more of this moving forward.
Jeremy Chinn CAR @TB
The 2nd rookie on this list! Carolina is one of those teams with a bad defense as a whole so you want to make sure you have the play makers on their defense. Chinn was all over the field racking up 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle. He is a play maker that balled out in his first game and should continue to do so.
IDP Week 2 Waiver Wire: Cornerbacks
Brian Poole NYJ V SF
Played 100% of snaps and should be on the field again vs the Colts who threw that ball a ton last game. In week 1 he totaled 8 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack and 1 pass defended. Colts did nothing but throw last game she he should be in for a good tackle game again.
Bless Austin NYJ V SF
Corner backs are tough to stream but I always play the matchups. That is why there are 2 corner backs from the same team on this list. Austin also had a nice stat game racking up 7 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 1 tackle for loss and 1 forced fumble. I would expect the colt to be throw a lot again so Austin is a great streaming CB to lock into your lineup!
