NFL 2020: DraftKings Week 12 Selections

The 2020 NFL season is well and truly underway, meaning time for some DraftKings Week 12 selections! The weeks have seen some great action on the field and some big scoring players. Hopefully, that continues for this week and beyond!

Throughout the season, I shall be providing players that I feel you should include in your lineups, with some rationale. So, let’s dig into whom I am thinking of slotting in my lineups for Week 12!

Justin Herbert ($7,200)

Out of the premium options at QB in Week Twelve, Herbert seems the best value on paper for me.

The Los Angeles rookie has averaged 26.7 points per game since taking over from Tyrod Taylor, which is mightily impressive. Herbert’s fast start has seen excellent stacking options appear during the season. In particular, Keenan Allen ($8,000) and Hunter Henry ($4,800) are interesting.

Week Twelve sees Los Angeles taking on Buffalo, a defense that is allowing 22.8 DK points to his position. That mark puts them in the bottom five in the league. Herbert is slowly becoming matchup-proof in your lineups. Play Herbert with confidence in your lineups this week.

Derek Carr ($5,700)

Carr seems to be a player that hovers around this price range. Every week has a great chance of returning 3.5 to 4 times value, making him a great inclusion in your lineups.

There is a portfolio of games where Carr has achieved this type of value you aim to have from the position. That includes last week against Kansas City where the Las Vegas QB finished with 22.6 DK points.

Week Twelve sees Carr have the best chance to repeat this value facing off against Atlanta. A team that gives up the most DK points to the QB position at 28.9 per game.

Dalvin Cook ($9,500)

Earlier in the week, I was debating between Cook and CMC, but with the Panthers back being doubtful for Sunday, the choice was made for me.

The Minnesota running back has seen being an incredible amount of touches the past few weeks. 34 in Week Ten and 32 in Week Eleven, therefore, will always give Cook a solid floor for you in your lineups, no matter the opponent.

This week sees Cook go up against Carolina, a team who have been consistently poor against the running back position this season, giving up 27.8 DK points per game to RBs. This number ranks them in the bottom five in the league.

Cook may be the most expensive play on the slate, but he is at that price for a reason and will be a lock for most of my lineups.

Nick Chubb ($7,100)

Since returning off of the Injured Reserve (IR) list, Chubb has been relatively unlucky in regards to his DFS output. In Week Ten, Chubb had a big run at the end of the game in Week Ten that he had to run it out to manage the clock. Then in Week 11, the running back had to leave the game on multiple occasions when in the red zone, resulting in Hunt getting all the red zone touches.

Therefore, Chubb feels like a boom game waiting to happen, especially with red-zone touches due. There will not be many better times to have this boom game than against Jacksonville, a team who have been allowing a per game average of 27.4 DK points to the RB position this season.

Honourable Mention: Wayne Gallman Jr ($5,000) – A running back seeing plenty of touches in a favourable matchup in which New York should control the game. Gallman has found the end zone five times in the last four weeks, so touchdown upside is also there for him to return value in your lineups.

Calvin Ridley ($7,100)

This selection very much depends on the status of Julio Jones heading into Sunday, which as of now is questionable. If Julio does not take part on Sunday, I will look at alternative options than Ridley.

If Julio does feature, Ridley will see coverage mostly from Trayvon Mullen, who has been a rollercoaster player this season. The cornerback has given up big games this season to the likes of Tim Patrick (7-110-0) and DeMarcus Robinson @ KC (4-100-0) in previous weeks.

Therefore, I will take a chance and say that Ridley will be the next beneficiary of Mullen’s inconsistencies and be the receiver to own this week in your lineups.

Michael Pittman Jr ($5,000)

Once activated off IR, Pittman has made himself clear the WR1 for Rivers and Indianapolis.

One of those standout performances came in Week Ten, where the receiver produced 22.2 DK points, making him one of the better value plays on the slate. Thus the hope is that lightning strikes twice on Indy’s turf.

Tennessee allowing massive games to WRs is not a one-time occurrence either. Their 43.5 points per game given up to the WR position, ranking sixth-worst in the league.

Paying down for a tight end this week does not appeal this week for me. The position is such a daft throw outside of the ‘top’ guys, and this is where we are heading with my selection.

Darren Waller ($6,000)

Waller, with the targets he is getting, is the top receiving option for Carr and Las Vegas. His 14.4 points per game is no joke.

Week Twelve sees a favourable matchup for the Las Vegas tight end, taking on Atlanta, a team who have given up 16.8 DK points per game to the tight end position, the most in the league.

With both defenses failing to impress this season, we could have a shootout on our hands in Atlanta, and you would expect Waller to be at the heart of it if so.

Cleveland ($3,100)

Well, I hope you took up the suggestion of playing the Cleveland defense last week. Twenty points in Week Eleven was a great return on your 3k investment, and we are going back to the well in Week Twelve.

Cleveland as a defense is one which has a consistent level of production as a unit when it comes to sacks. As mentioned last week, the unit rarely records below two sacks in a game, no matter the opposing offense they face.

Their opposition this week is Jacksonville, who seems to be in full ‘tank’ mode with Mike Glennon starting at QB this week. I like Cleveland chances to disrupt the veteran this week and once again return an excellent points total for your investment.
