Aaron Jones Signs With Vikings - Fantasy Impact

It all happened so quickly, the rumours are that the Packers asked Jones to reduce his salary (and cap hit), talks broke down, then the Packers signed Josh Jacobs, and in doing so released Aaron Jones. He wasn’t a free agent for long though, signing with the Vikings to stay in the NFC North.

The Vikings had a gap on their roster, after releasing Alexander Mattison after a season of struggle. That left Ty Chandler on the roster as the starting backfield option. Jones should be a more effective veteran runner than Mattison was, and is a low-end RB2 with Chandler capping his upside.

It’s hard to really know what Jones’ actual fantasy outlook is going to be at the moment for redraft, with the team unsure of their QB for the season. For dynasty though, this feels like a downgrade in value.
