Joe Mixon Traded To Texans - Fantasy Impact

The Bengals chose to make a change in their backfield, trading Mixon to the Texans in exchange for a 7th round pick after being rumoured to be releasing him earlier in the day. Mixon should lead this backfield for the Texans, with Devin Singletary out of the building.

Mixon’s trade was announced after the team signed Zack Moss, which immediately impacted Mixon’s value. Ultimately, when the Texans missed out on a number of the top RB talent in free agency, they traded for Mixon. As a result, he retains his value as a low-end RB1 in this offense.

Currently there isn’t much competition for touches in this backfield, and the Texans offense took a huge step forward with C.J. Stroud in his rookie season. With the Texans an upgrade on the struggles the Bengals have had, Mixon could return to something closer to his best. Mixon is going to be overlooked to start draft season, but he is going to be a great value unless the team bring in more competition in the draft.
