Jonnu Smith Signs With Dolphins - Fantasy Impact

Jonnu Smith wasn’t a free agent for long, after his release from the Falcons roster, before signing with the Dolphins. After a decent season with the struggling Falcons offense, he moves to one of the best passing offenses in the NFL- but one that was missing a reliable TE.

Sharing targets with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle isn’t the ideal landing spot. But after playing in teams that have limited pass attempts, he is finally going to be in an offense that is going to be happy to air it out. With the competition for targets, I could see him struggling to be consistent for fantasy, but having some boom weeks.

For redraft, he is going to be a late-round play who is going to have some upside in some weeks, but generally likely to be a backup. Miami should score plenty of touchdowns, and Smith has shown himself to be a great redzone weapon. For dynasty, he probably has a slight bump in value, but this contract isn’t a long-term and doesn’t overly move his value.
