Kirk Cousins Signs With Falcons - Fantasy Impact

Kirk Cousins was a big free agent domino to fall, here we look at the fantasy impact of his signing with the Falcons. Yes, he is coming off the back of a torn Achilles, and not that long ago it would be the end of his career. But, the fact is that there aren’t alot of viable QBs available- which has made him a prime target.

Atlanta have an offense that is ready to go- they have good receiving talent in Drake London and Kyle Pitts, and their backfield has talent too. The issue has been that since Matt Ryan left the team, they’ve had to cycle through QBs that have been career backups, or struggling rookie Desmond Ridder. Ridder has been the better of them, but he has been inconsistent.

The NFC South isn’t the best division in the league, and the Falcons could look at a run of divisional titles and playoff runs as a result. Cousins will bring a steady hand to this offense, and with the talent that they have won’t have to do too much to be very fantasy-relevant.

For redraft, he is going to be the same Cousins that he always has been. That late-round QB that will give you some big weeks. Instead, the value to his receivers and overall offense is massively moved. For dynasty, his four-year deal gives him some stability and he would be a solid QB2/3 in a Superflex roster.

The Vikings now have a big question they need to answer- who is going to be throwing the ball in Minnesota?
