Other RB Moves - Fantasy Impact

A.J. Dillon Signs With Packers

Dillon returns to the Packers to the same role as last season, albeit with Jacobs leading the Packers backfield instead of Jones. This will be more of the same for Dillon and his outlook. He will be an injury fill-in/ used to spell Jones.

Alexander Mattison Signs With Raiders

Mattison didn’t hit the highs expected of him for the Vikings last season. But, with Jacobs out of the building, Mattison could be the starter for the Raiders. With how the Raiders have relied upon the run, he could be a decent volume fantasy play next season.

Antonio Gibson Signs With Patriots

Gibson signing for the Patriots doesn’t really have much of a fantasy impact. Limited last season to a role of pass-catcher, and can’t see that changing with the Patriots already having Rhamondre Stevenson leading their backfield. Although they did allow Ezekiel Elliott to leave some carries in their offense.

D'Onta Foreman Signs With Browns

I’m not sure what to make of this signing, other than to say the Browns must have some real concerns over Nick Chubb’s health. Foreman was a decent back last season when given the opportunity with the Bears, and is likely to share the backfield with Jerome Ford.

DeeJay Dallas Signs With Cardinals

More of a special teams signing than anything else. Can’t see Dallas displacing any of the RBs the Cardinals have for any meaningful snaps.

Devin Singletary Signs With Giants

Singletary signed a 3-year $16.5m deal with the Giants, after having a decent season leading the backfield for the Texans. The Giants allowed their star RB Saquon Barkley to leave, so Singletary should be the leading man here. The Giants offense doesn’t have a real focal point, and has question marks throughout the depth chart. Could be a safe volume play for fantasy, but his upside seems to be limited.

Gus Edwards Signs With Chargers

Gus ‘The Bus’ Edwards was a goal-line demon for the Ravens last season. Clearly the Chargers have decided to change their offensive outlook with a change in coach, and allowing Austin Ekeler to leave. As a result there are a lot of carries in this offense. Edwards has been a one-dimensional RB, and I can’t see that changing for the Chargers. Could be a solid volume play come draft time, depending on who else the Chargers add.

Nyheim Hines Signs With Browns

Hines was allowed to leave the Bills after suffering a bad injury that kept him out of action. The Browns Nick Chubb suffered an awful injury at the start of last season, but Jerome Ford (and the now free-agent Kareem Hunt) managed to be effective. Can’t see Hines getting much action here, unless Chubb suffers a setback.
