College Career
Freiermuth is the second TE option in this class, after Kyle Pitts. Coming off the Penn State TE production line, he has good traits of a receiver. Has shown his ability to score, with 16 TDs in his college career.
Scouting Report
Positives:
Freiermuth has a long frame, and has good release at the line out of either a two-point or three-point stance. Good route runner, and able to get separation from defenders. His size gives him an advantage over defensive backs, and his burst gets him away from linebackers. Physical with the ball in the air, and with the ball in his hands.
Negatives:
One issue that Freiermuth has is good for fantasy. He isn’t a great blocker. Much better running routes than blocking on both running and passing plays. Doesn’t have great top end speed, which can lead to him being chased down in the open field

Friermuth would be great on an offense that uses TE. I’d love him on a team like the Colts, where the team has shown it’s ability to utilize the position. Equally a team like the Chargers could be a good spot.
