What year is it again? It is 2021, right? I’m just wondering because as I look back on Week 10 performances I see names that I haven’t seen in what feels like forever. Cam Newton is back with the Carolina Panthers and leading them to a victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Mark Ingram was the RB9 while filling in for Alvin Kamara and returning to where his career started in New Orleans. I mean what is going on and how is the 2021 season getting weirder every week? Speaking of Week 10 can you believe we’re at Week 11 already, wow! This season is flying by.
OK, let’s get started, but first! Before we move forward, I’d like to remind the readers what exactly this article is intended for.
Every week I select players inside the FantasyPros Consensus Top 12 that I think will finish outside the top 12 and players outside the top 12 that I like more.
This is NOT a ‘start/sit’ article per se. This is more or less how I feel about a player, why I feel that way, suggesting what I would do, what to expect, and who I like more.
I know when offering advice and analysis, accuracy and accountability are important. Not just to you guys but to me as well. Every week I like to keep track and share my previous week’s picks that I got right and wrong.
Accountability Report
QB Russell Wilson (SEA)
Week 10 Ranking 12th
Prediction- Bust
Week 10 Finish 22nd
Coming back early from a broken finger injury against a borderline elite pass defense, what should we have expected. At least Russ is back though.
RB D'Andre Swift (DET)
Week 10 Ranking 10th
Prediction- Bust
Week 10 Finish 16th
What a weird game this was. BOTH backup running backs scored touchdowns, the game went into overtime, and it ended in a tie! That’s the Lions’ season in a nutshell.
WR Justin Jefferson (MIN)
Week 10 Ranking 9th
Prediction- Bust
Week 10 Finish 7th
No surprise here when I expect Jefferson is one of the best receivers in the league and outside of a couple of bad weeks he’s been just as good as he was in 2021. Maybe the Chargers’ defense isn’t as good as we all thought.
TE Dallas Goedert (PHI)
Week 10 Ranking 8th
Prediction- Bust
Week 10 Finish 8th
It was fun hearing Goedert mic’d up a couple of weeks ago and while he seems like a cool guy, he has started to cool off (see what I did there) as of late.
This week was much, much better than last week. Let’s run the numbers
Week 10 Results- 3 for 4 75%

Week 11 Inside/ Outside Picks
QB Justin Herbert (LAC)
v PIT
Current Ranking 7th
AVG Points per Game 22.0
Week 11 ranking 9th
You probably remember two weeks ago when I had Herbert on my ‘Bust’ list only for him to follow that up with a thirty-point game and finish as the QB2. Herbert has been, how do you say…inconsistent in his sophomore season. Add in the fact that the Steelers have given up two touchdowns combined to quarterbacks the last three weeks, things aren’t looking good for Herbert in Week 11.
Who I like More
QB Jimmy Garoppolo (SF)
@JAX
Week 11 ranking 20th
In case you’re wondering, I spelled Garoppolo correctly the first time without looking it up or copying and pasting it..ok fine you caught me, I copied and pasted it. He has a hard last name, so sue me. You know what else has been hard lately, stopping Jimmy GQ and the 49ers’ offense. Through weeks 7-10 Garoppolo has been the QB7 and the 49ers are averaging over thirty points per game.
RB Austin Ekeler (LAC)
v PIT
Current Ranking 3rd
AVG Points per Game 19.9
Week 11 ranking 5th
Ekeler makes the list for the first time this season and like Herbert, this matchup leaves a lot to be desired. We all know Ekeler is an elite-level pass catcher and in PPR leagues Ekeler is as close to perfect as they come. When you dig a little deeper from weeks six through ten Ekeler is the RB17, averaging seventeen points per game, and has only scored two touchdowns. Now he’s facing a stingy Steelers run defense that has allowed the fourth-fewest receptions to running backs this season. My expectations for Ekeler are very low this week.
Who I like More
RB Antonio Gibson (WAS)
@CAR
Week 11 ranking 19th
The Panthers’ defense has been awfully generous to running backs over the last month allowing over twenty-four points per game. While Gibson hasn’t been the top-five running back we thought he would be, he’s still averaging over seventeen opportunities per game. After a bye week and a two-touchdown game in Week 10, don’t be surprised when Gibson has another RB1 week.
WR Chris Godwin (TB)
v NYG
Current Ranking 9th
AVG Points per Game 17.4
Week 11 ranking 9th
The New York Giants defense isn’t being talked about enough. Over the last four weeks, they’ve allowed less than forty receptions, four-hundred receiving yards, two touchdowns and for the season only TWO receivers have eclipsed a hundred yards receiving.
Who I like More
WR D.J. Moore (CAR)
v WAS
Week 11 ranking 22nd
Finally, finally, finally, FINALLY! I finally get to have Moore on my ‘Trust’ list. Week after week of failing to meet expectations D.J. Moore is reunited with Cam Newton and in their first game back together Moore was targeted seven times. With a full week of starter reps and an opportunity to work on their chemistry. D.J. Moore and a matchup with a bottom ten Washington pass defense are just what fantasy managers ordered.
TE Dallas Goedert (PHI)
v NO
Current Ranking 14th
AVG Points per Game 9.5
Week 11 ranking 11th
Goedert makes the list again this week and for good reason. From weeks five through ten Dallas Goedert is the TE18, hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 4, and has two double-digit scoring performances during that span. Don’t look now, here come the Saints and their elite defense to put Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense to the test.
Who I like More
TE Cole Kmet (CHI)
v BAL
Week 11 ranking 20th
Cole Kmet was a popular name during the offseason and over the last month, fantasy managers are seeing why. From weeks five through ten Kmet is averaging close to six targets per game, four receptions, forty-five yards, and over eight points per game. He’s earned the trust of Justin Fields and now he faces a Baltimore defense that’s bottom ten in every category versus tight-ends.
That’s gonna do it for this week’s piece. I hope you found the info useful and actionable.
