I thought that with the Superbowl in the books, it would be a good time to give a review of the UKFL (UK Fantasy League) in its first season. Nothing too in-depth, just a quick overview of the league this season.
UKFL: Origin of the League
Hopefully, you know the story behind the league. If not- the league was set up to pull together UK fans and raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Number of Entrants
In our first season, honestly, I had no idea how many people would sign up for the league. After the first weekend of asking for signups, it was pretty clear there was a massive demand for the league. In the end, we had over 300 applicants and ran the league with 240 players.
It was truly humbling to have that many people buying into what we were trying to achieve, and great to see the connections that were forming in draft rooms and Twitter.
Money Raised
Setting up a Just Giving page for the league was easy, getting people to donate proved a little harder. But ultimately we finished the season having raised £605! Which is a great sum to hand over to a charity that does such great work. So thank you so much for your donations. If you haven’t donated, and want to, head over to our charity page and add to the Total!

UKFL: Next season
This season has been great, and if you want to share your details with us and play next year head over to our signup page. I hope that you guys join us and help get this league to an even bigger point next season!
