We are here with our Week 15 waiver wire adds. We are right on the edge of making the playoffs. Some leagues will already be in the playoffs, some have one more week for their final push. Regardless of where you are, we have you for this week and beyond.
I’m writing this on Monday morning UK time, and will update this after the games tonight. This is to give you some guys to think about ahead of your waiver claims.
Each week I am going to look at players to use that have lower ownership percentages (lower than 50%). I’m going to be using the rostered percentages from Yahoo leagues, as it’s easily publically available. These are players that I’m looking to pick up from the waiver wire for Week 15.
Each of my adds are ordered by their rostered percentages, rather than their priority.
Derek Carr (LV, 47% rostered)
Carr is worth having a look at if you need to, due to the matchup that he has this week. The Chargers are just not a great unit against the position. Combine that with the fact that Carr is actually having a serviceable season (it might not feel like it but he has). He is currently on track for a season with over 4,000 yards and 29 TDs. Not too bad at all.
Philip Rivers (IND, 41% rostered)
Rivers seems to have found his grove in the offense now, and has the Colts firing on offense. Sure, his recent schedule has been kind, but that’s fine. This week, he faces Houston, a team that he torched for 285 yards and 2 TDs just two weeks ago. I still think he is a great pickup if he is available in your league.
Andy Dalton (DAL, 15% rostered)
Dalton performed well enough against his previous employers, but wasn’t asked to do too much. The Cowboys defense actually decided to turn up, limiting Dalton to just 185 yards and 2 TDs. Next up for the Cowboys offense are the San Fransisco 49ers, who are able to be beaten through the air.
Honorable Mentions
- Tua Tagovailoa (MIA, 20% rostered)
- Mitchell Trubisky (CHI, 11% rostered)
- Drew Lock (DEN, 11% rostered)
- Dwayne Haskins (WAS, 1% rostered)
Haskins is worth an add, if Alex Smith’s injury is bad. Washington are due to face up against Seattle, even with Washington’s offense there should be enough
DeAndre Washington (MIA, 24% rostered)
Washington has stepped in to become the leadback for Miami, at least for the time being. He was announced as the starter late in the week, after COVID forced the team to act, but still managed to get 13 carries. The production didn’t match, but he is still a fine add. If nothing else, he is worth picking up to block your leaguemates.
Jeff Wilson (SF, 19% rostered)
Wilson is just the guy that appears when you think you have the 49ers backfield figured out. Being totally honest, Wilson isn’t going to be one of those league winners. Even if he has a big game, you can’t trust him to be productive at this point of the season.
Samaje Perine (CIN, 2% rostered)
Let’s just be quick with this one. The matchup is terrible, but he is worth picking up if you are in desperate need, as he stepped in and performed when Giovani Bernard was off the field against the Giants.
Honorable Mentions
- Ty Johnson (NYJ, 30% rostered)
- Carlos Hyde (SEA, 27% rostered)
- Peyton Barber (WAS, 9% rostered)
Jalen Reagor (PHI, 22% rostered)
Reagor is the lead receiver for Philadelphia, but it’s not a great offense. That being said, rookie Jalen Hurts has helped the offense take a step forward and is worth considering. Next up for the team is Arizona, and with Alshon Jeffery returning, it will be interesting to know if Reagor of Jeffery will get the primary attention from the defense.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling (GB, 20% rostered)
This Packers offense is just firing this season, able to move the ball however it wants. Davante Adams is obviously the focal point of the attack, but there is enough for a second receiver in this offense. Valdes-Scantling is a boom option if you need it in deeper leagues.
Russell Gage (ATL, 11% rostered)
Gage had a great start to the season, and looks like he might have a good end to it too. Julio Jones has struggled for fitness recently, and really there is no need for the team to rush him back. That should lead to an uptick in targets for Gage. Oh, and he can throw the ball too.
Honorable Mentions
- Keke Coutee (HOU, 45% rostered)
- Breshad Perriman (NYJ, 20% rostered)
- Laviska Shenault Jr (JAX, 16% rostered)
- Cordarrelle Paterson (CHI, 11% rostered)
- Greg Ward (PHI, 3% rostered)
- Lynn Bowden (MIA, 1% rostered)
Jordan Reed (SF, 25% rostered)
Reed continues getting targets in the offense, which is great. The issue is that he hasn’t done too much with them. In the past 3 weeks, he has caught 7 receptions for just 63 yards and a single TD. But I keep feeling that it’s only a matter of time until he has that blow up game.
Cole Kmet (CHI, 6% rostered)
Jimmy Graham may have got the TD on Sunday, but it’s Kmet that gets the targets. In fact, in the last two games, he has had 14. Given the positional landscape, you can’t overlook that opportunity. Next up is a Minnesota Vikings defense that has struggled at times against the position.
Honorable Mentions
- Tyler Higbee (48% rostered)
- Trey Burton (IND, 36% rostered)
- Irv Smith (MIN, 6% rostered)
- Will Dissly (SEA, 2% rostered)
Cleveland Browns (49% rostered)
Another team that is set to face up against New York. This time, it’s the Giants. At the moment, it appears that the offensive line is just unable to protect their QB, with the team adding another 8 sacks in the Week to bring their season total to 41. The Browns defensive line is effective, a great option if they are available in your league.
Arizona Cardinals (24% rostered)
I was more confident in this pick last week, before the Eagles faced the Saints. The Eagles were giving up sacks for fun, which lead to turnovers too. That didn’t happen last week against an effective Saints DST. However, the Cardinals might have the blueprint to limiting the Eagles rookie QB with the pressure they bring on offense.
Mason Crosby (GB, 41% rostered)
Crosby is one of the few (regular) kickers that hasn’t missed a Field Goal opportunity. His issue is that the Packers offense has been able to move the ball efficiently this season, which has restricted those attempts. However, the floor of PATs give him some level of security each week as well as having some FG attempts.
Tyler Bass (BUF, 36% rostered)
This Buffalo offense is rolling, and part of the is the ability of Bass to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Buffalo just dropped 26 points on the Steelers. With a matchup against Denver next, there is a real opportunity for Bass to impress again.
Honorable Mentions
- Greg Zuerlein (DAL, 38% rostered)
- Chris Boswell (PIT, 17% rostered)
So those are our waiver wire adds for Week 15. I’d certainly expect a number of them to end up in my start/ sit article later this week, and in my weekly rankings, which will be as soon as I take in the action tonight.
